VKU Works with Enterprises, Exchanging Orientations for Cooperative Training of Semiconductor IC Human Resources

On the morning of July 30, 2026, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a working session with representatives of enterprises to discuss orientations for cooperation in training and capacity development in semiconductor IC for students and lecturers, aiming to strengthen the connection between the university and enterprises in training high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of the semiconductor industry.

Overview of the working session

Attending the working session, on the side of enterprises were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong – General Director of Gasa Holdings, Innovation Director of Sovico; Mr. Tuan Nguyen – Business Director of HCLTech; Mr. Huy Le – Distribution Manager of Galaxy Technology Services Company. On the side of VKU were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the University, along with representative leaders of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Electronics, relevant specialized units, and the teaching staff in charge of training in the field of semiconductor IC.

Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU speaking

Speaking at the working session, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho welcomed the delegation to visit and work with VKU, while sharing the training capacity and development orientation of the University in the field of semiconductor IC. Currently, VKU has a scale of approximately 8,000 students, of which more than 5,000 students belong to closely related majors such as Information Technology and Computer Engineering, along with about 300 students studying the Semiconductor IC Design Academic Program. With input quality in the high group of the University (from 24 to 27 points), the training curriculum is constructed according to an application-oriented approach, focusing on practical capacity development and integrating specialized microchip modules right from the first years to meet the growing demands of the labor market.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, representing enterprises, sharing

Representatives of the enterprises expressed their desire to accompany Da Nang city and VKU in training semiconductor IC human resources for both students and lecturers, focusing on two specialized fields: microchip design and operation simulation. At the same time, the enterprises also shared their wish to gain a deeper understanding of VKU’s training scale, curriculum, and development orientations to exchange joint training opportunities, contributing to developing a high-quality team of semiconductor engineers in the coming time.

Within the framework of the working session, both sides exchanged and discussed several potential cooperation orientations, such as international training programs with partners in Japan and Taiwan; the “Enterprise Semester” model, creating favorable conditions for students to participate in full-time internships at enterprises during the final stage of their course to access real working environments; as well as the possibility of deploying online courses for students to study, take examinations for international certificates, and research the feasibility of recognizing and transferring academic results in accordance with the University’s regulations.

The discussion contents at the working session served as initial orientations to understand the needs and potential for cooperation among the parties. In the coming time, VKU and the enterprises will continue to exchange and research suitable cooperation models, contributing to elevating training quality, enhancing connections between the university and enterprises, and meeting the demand for high-quality human resources development in the semiconductor IC sector.
