On the afternoon of August 21, 2026, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, held a working session with Letuin High-tech Vietnam Company to discuss cooperation orientations in training, human resource development, and the application of Extended Reality (XR) technology in the semiconductor industry.

Overview of the working session

Attending the working session, on behalf of Letuin High-tech Vietnam Company was Mr. Kim Yong Tae – Director of the company. On VKU’s side, there was Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector, along with representatives of the university’s departments and faculties.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, introduced an overview of the university’s development orientation. Currently, VKU is training nearly 8,000 students in digital technology and digital economy, aiming to meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources for digital transformation and strategic technology sector development.

In the semiconductor technology field, VKU has been enrolling students in programs related to semiconductor since 2024 under the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Electronics. The key training fields include IC Design and Semiconductor Testing and Packaging. These majors highly attract students, with top-tier entry benchmark scores ranging around 24-27 out of 30 points, while enrollment scale continues to expand annually.

Furthermore, along with the high-tech industry development orientation and the immense demand for well-trained human resources equipped with specialized knowledge and practical skills that meet business requirements, Da Nang city is attracting about 15-20 enterprises operating in semiconductors and related tech industries. This provides favorable conditions for VKU to strengthen enterprise connections, promote cooperation in training and research, and gradually form a high-quality semiconductor human resource development ecosystem serving local and regional needs.

Representing Letuin High-tech Vietnam Company, Mr. Kim Yong Tae – Director, expressed gratitude for VKU’s warm welcome and introduced the company’s background and strategic orientation. Established in Korea in 2015, Letuin operates in high-tech fields via virtual reality and augmented reality simulations (VR/AR/VX) across semiconductor, display, automotive, biotechnology, and robotics industries. In Vietnam, the company focuses on expanding training activities in semiconductors and high-tech sectors.

Voya Virtual Reality Experience

One of the prominent solutions introduced by the company is the Voya Virtual Reality (VX Virtual Lab) for training and hands-on practice in semiconductor manufacturing. This system allows learners to experience and practice semiconductor manufacturing processes in a virtual environment, ranging from equipment assembly and disassembly to wafer production process simulation and technical troubleshooting.

Accordingly, investing in physical semiconductor laboratories requires massive costs, while the number of learners with direct practical access is often restricted due to equipment protection needs. Applying virtual reality and extended reality technologies will broaden student access, creating a safe, intuitive learning environment while enhancing hands-on practice opportunities.

During the session, both sides discussed various specific cooperative contents. Notably, they explored the potential to jointly implement the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program offering free semiconductor classes for VKU students sponsored by Samsung. Students completing the course will receive certificates issued by Samsung Group, thereby enhancing their competitive edge and broadening job opportunities in international environments.

In addition, VKU and Letuin High-tech Vietnam discussed possibilities of working with partners to build an EduFab system applying XR technology at VKU to serve in-depth practical training in semiconductors, conducting specialized courses organized by the company, and developing corporate internship programs to train students to assist in operating and coordinating semiconductor classes.

The working session served as an opportunity for VKU and Letuin High-tech Vietnam Company to strengthen connections, exchange advanced training models, and define suitable cooperation directions for the future. By combining the university’s academic strengths with the tech expertise and practical experience of the enterprise, both parties expect to gradually build a modern training environment, improve practical skills, and contribute to supplying high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry in Da Nang, the Central region, and Vietnam.
