4. Student rights and support policies

• Participate in advanced Master’s training programs with the teaching and instruction from domestic and international professors and doctors.
• Have the opportunity to do internships and research in Korea.
• Sign a teaching assistant contract with the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology.
• Take part in scientific research and applied research projects.
• Be considered for recognition, exemption and conversion of prior-learning subjects passed at the University or Master’s level (if any) according to regulations.
• Be given priority for recruitment as lecturers at the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and recommendation to study for a doctorate in Korea and other developed countries after graduation.
• Support policies: Admitted students who meet the English entry requirements, graduate from the university with a Good degree or higher and wish to become lecturers at the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (recruited as teaching assistants) will receive the following support policies: get 100% tuition fee sponsorship from the ODA project (Korea); sponsored 2,900,000 VND/month from the ODA project (Korea) for living expenses for 18 months from the date of admission plus the salary regime according to the regulations of the university; provided free dormitory accommodation.

5. Candidate selection and admission criteria

5.1. Candidate selection criteria

• Have graduated or have met the requirements for graduation recognition at university (or higher) level in a suitable field; have a graduation grade from Good or higher or have scientific. publications related to the field of study and research.
• Have foreign language proficiency from Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam.
• Meet other requirements of the training program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the training program.

5.2. Candidates meet the foreign language requirements for admission when they have one of the following diplomas or certificates:

• University degree or higher in foreign languages; university degree or higher with the training program mainly conducted in a foreign language.
• A university degree or higher issued by VKU within a period of no more than 02 years since graduation and a recognition of foreign language proficiency output of Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam as required.
• One of the foreign language diplomas or certificates at Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam specified in the appendix of this project or other equivalent certificates announced by the Ministry of Education and Training and still valid to the time of the registration.

6. Admission method

• Round 1: Application Review.
• Round 2 (For candidates passing Round 1): Taking exams in 2 subjects: Programming (focus on data structures and algorithms) and English.

Admission score = Programming score + English score

The admission principle complies with from-high-to-low admission score priority, in which no subject score is below 5.0. In case many candidates have the same admission score and the university admission quota exceeds the quantity specified at the announcement, the university will take priority over Programming score, from high to low. If the quantity still goes beyond the announced admission quota after using this criterion (considering Programming score as a secondary criterion), the university will consider cumulative GPA of the entire university course as the other secondary criterion.

Other special cases are decided by the university’s Admissions Council.

7. Application documents:

• Application form: Candidates access the link https://sdh.vku.udn.vn to register online, then print it out, sign and submit it with the application;
• Certified copies of the following documents: University Diploma (or University Graduation Certificate/ Certificate of University Training Program Completion); University graduation transcripts; Proof of foreign language proficiency;
• 02 3x4cm ID photos (white background, collared shirt), taken within 6 months to the time of submission.
• List of research works, with copies of published articles and scientific works (if any).

8. Graduation conditions

Students are considered to graduate and be awarded a Master’s degree when they simultaneously ensure the following conditions:

• Complete all modules of the training program and defend the thesis and project with a “Passed” outcome;
• Meet the foreign language proficiency output standards of the training program by the time of graduation consideration; proven by one of the foreign language diplomas or certificates at Level 4 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or other equivalent certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training, or a university degree or higher in a foreign language, or a university degree or higher in another major whose training program is primarily conducted in a foreign language;
• Complete the responsibilities as prescribed by the university; not being prosecuted for criminal liability and not being under disciplinary or suspension from study.

9. Instructions for the registration process

• After completing the online registration, candidates print the “Registration Form”, sign and submit it with the application.
• Candidates complete the application as required in Section 6 and submit it to the university as guided in Sections 10 and 11.
