Over 227 Teams Compete in the Preliminary Round of the Best Web Design 2026
On the morning of May 16, 2026, the preliminary round of the Best Web Design 2026 (BWD 2026) competition officially commenced online, enveloped in a vibrant, creative, and enthusiastic atmosphere of students who share a passion for website design and development. The competition is organized annually by the Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, aiming to create an in-depth academic playground, contributing to discovering, nurturing, and honoring young talents in the field of web technology.

The preliminary round of the BWD 2026 competition was organized in online format
This year, BWD 2026 recorded a powerful attraction with more than 227 teams coming from multiple universities across Da Nang City, such as the Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, the University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang, and FPT University. The large-scale participation of the competing teams created an exciting competitive atmosphere right from the first round, while simultaneously demonstrating the increasingly growing interest of students toward the field of website design and development.
Best Web Design is a competition oriented toward unlocking the creative spirit, design thinking capabilities, and modern web system building capacity of students. Not only reserved for students currently enrolled in Web Design and Web Technology course modules at VKU, the competition is also expanded to students from universities and colleges who possess a passion for technology and digital interface design.
In 2026, the competition is organized with two competition tracks including BWD 2026 and SUPER BWD 2026. Among them, the BWD 2026 track is dedicated to students currently taking Web Design, Web Technology, and Website Interface Design course modules at VKU, while also being expanded to first-year VKU students and students from universities and colleges nationwide. The SUPER BWD 2026 track is reserved for students who have previously won a Third Prize or higher in prior seasons, or students from the second year and above who possess outstanding capabilities in the field of web development.
The competition is deployed through multiple stages with a clear roadmap, creating favorable conditions for competing teams to have time to invest in and perfect their products. According to the plan, the registration period took place from March 30 to April 19, 2026; the preliminary round is organized from May 16 to June 21, 2026, and the final round is expected to take place on August 29, 2026.
During the preliminary round, many competing teams brought forward products that were elaborately invested in regarding interfaces, user experiences, as well as practical applicability. The diverse, creative ideas along with the capacity to apply modern technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery, React… clearly demonstrated the spirit of learning, innovation, and seriousness of the teams during their preparation process.
As a result of the preliminary round, 52 of the most outstanding teams officially won the right to step forward into the next round of the competition. These are all teams possessing prominent products, creative ideas, along with impressive technical implementation capabilities, promising to bring many captivating competitive performances in the upcoming rounds.
Alongside the opportunity to exchange, learn, and express professional capacities, this year’s Best Web Design 2026 competition also possesses an attractive prize structure with a total value of more than 50 million VND for excellent teams in both competition tracks. The awards are not only a recognition of students’ creative spirit, technology application capabilities, and design thinking but also contribute to encouraging the development of highly practical digital products that meet digital transformation needs in the current context.
The Best Web Design 2026 competition continues to affirm its role as a prestigious academic playground for students who love the field of web design and development, while simultaneously contributing to strengthening the connection among the university, students, and the Information Technology business community.
