VKU Welcomes Delegation from Jeollabuk-do Labor Union (Korea): Strengthening Vietnam – Korea Friendship and Cooperation in Education and Human Resource Development
As part of the ongoing exchange and international cooperation activities between Vietnam and Korea, on the afternoon of October 23, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Jeollabuk-do Labor Union (Korea), led by Ms. Choi Sunrae, Head of the delegation, together with nearly 30 members, including labor union officials and representatives from local agencies and organizations.

Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, representatives from VKU included leaders of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, the Center for Learning Resources and Communication, as well as the university’s staff and lecturers. On behalf of VKU, the representatives warmly welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the university’s establishment and development process, organizational structure, training programs, and notable achievements over the past five years.

In her introduction, the VKU representative emphasized that VKU was established in 2020 as a member university of the University of Danang, founded through a special collaboration between the Governments of Vietnam and Korea, with a total investment of over 1,000 billion VND. VKU is committed to its mission of becoming a leading center for education, research, and technology transfer in the Central and Central Highlands and across Vietnam. The university also serves as a symbol of Vietnam – Korea friendship and cooperation in the fields of education and information technology.

Members of the Jeollabuk-do Labor Union delegation expressed their strong impression of VKU’s modern facilities, well-equipped laboratories, advanced research centers, and international learning environment. The delegation noted that this visit was an excellent opportunity for both sides to enhance mutual understanding and share experiences in human resource training, especially in the technology sector – a field that both Vietnam and Korea are giving high priority to in their national development strategies.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two sides engaged in open discussions about future cooperation directions. The Jeollabuk-do Labor Union expressed its desire to build connections between organizations and enterprises in Jeollabuk-do and VKU students, thereby creating opportunities for internships, employment, cultural exchange, and study programs in Korea for the university’s students. The VKU representatives also shared the university’s ongoing and effective international cooperation programs, such as the 2+2 and 3+2 transfer study programs and joint training projects with enterprises from Korea, Japan, the UK, and Australia. VKU expressed its intention to further expand collaboration in short-term training, faculty and student exchanges, and youth exchange activities in the coming time.
The visit of the Jeollabuk-do Labor Union delegation from Korea was not only a meaningful diplomatic event, but also contributed to further strengthening the friendly cooperation between Jeollabuk-do Province and Da Nang City, as well as between the labor unions, educational institutions, and enterprises of both sides. VKU reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its role as a “bridge of knowledge, technology, and human resource cooperation” between Vietnam and Korea, laying a strong foundation for the development of international collaboration programs, particularly in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, microchip design, cybersecurity, and financial technology (Fintech).

The meeting concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere. The Jeollabuk-do Labor Union delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to VKU’s leaders, staff, and lecturers for their thoughtful and impressive hospitality. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and foster continued cooperation in the coming time, aiming to build a long-term, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnership.
