Announcement and Presentation of the Certificate of Educational Quality Accreditation to Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, The University of Danang
On the morning of April 12, 2026, within the framework of the Final Round of the 7th Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang solemnly held the Ceremony for the Announcement and Conferment of the Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Accreditation. This event marks a significant milestone, affirming the University’s prestige, training quality, and position within the higher education system of Vietnam.

In attendance, representing the Center for Education Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA) was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center. From the University of Danang were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President, along with leaders of the University’s functional departments. From VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee; Vice Rectors including Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho; and leaders of affiliated and subordinate units of the University. The event also welcomed a large number of domestic and international guests, lecturers, students, and nearly 1,000 high school students participating in the Final Round of the Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU, emphasized that achieving educational institution quality accreditation is not merely a form of recognition, but also a clear testament to the University’s prestige, standing, and training quality within the higher education system. At the same time, it represents a strong commitment by the University to continuously improve and enhance training quality in accordance with regional and international standards, aiming to develop high-quality human resources in the fields of digital technology and the digital economy. He further affirmed that this achievement is the result of sustained efforts in building a modern educational environment, innovating training programs, developing academic staff, promoting international cooperation and scientific research, and serving the community.

On behalf of VNU-CEA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center, extended her congratulations to VKU on officially achieving educational institution quality accreditation. She affirmed that this accomplishment is the result of the University’s serious, systematic, and sustained efforts throughout its first accreditation cycle. She further emphasized that VKU has fully met the set of 25 standards and 111 criteria as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, while progressively approaching ASEAN regional quality assurance standards, clearly demonstrating its development orientation and international integration.The accreditation results not only reflect the quality of education and training but also recognize the establishment and dissemination of a quality culture across all aspects of the University’s operations, from governance to teaching and learner support. In particular, it affirms that quality accreditation is a continuous journey, in which achieving certification in the first cycle serves not only as a significant milestone but also as a strong driving force for VKU to continue innovating, enhancing quality, and strengthening its position in the years ahead.
Prior to this, VKU had comprehensively completed the quality accreditation process in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with VNU-CEA. This process was implemented in a systematic and rigorous manner, from self-assessment and preliminary survey to the official site visit, with the participation of a team of experienced external reviewers.
During the official site visit in January 2026, the evaluation panel recognized many outstanding strengths of VKU, including its clear development orientation, a well-established and synchronized quality assurance system, a young and dynamic faculty, and modern facilities. Notably, VKU was assessed as having achieved a “remarkable pace of development,” demonstrating strong breakthroughs after just over five years of establishment and growth.
Subsequently, on March 7, 2026, at the 42nd meeting of the Education Quality Accreditation Council (VNU-CEA), the results of the institutional quality assessment of VKU were officially approved with 100% consensus from all Council members. The Council highly appreciated the University’s proactive and serious approach, as well as its strong commitment to building a quality culture. It also acknowledged numerous outstanding achievements during the 2021–2025 period, including resource development, improvement of training quality, promotion of international cooperation, and a high graduate employment rate.

The official recognition of meeting the educational institution quality accreditation standards serves as a clear testament to the continuous efforts of VKU’s leadership, staff, faculty members, and students in their journey to build a modern, internationally integrated, and learner-centered higher education environment.
The announcement and presentation of the accreditation certificate, held within the framework of the Final Round of the 7th Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad – 2026, further enhanced the significance of the event, as it brought together a large number of pupils, students, lecturers, and educational institutions across the region. This was not only an occasion for VKU to share its joy and achievements, but also an opportunity to strongly promote the message of quality, innovation, and the aspiration for sustainable development.
