In his remarks, Dr. Tran The Son warmly welcomed the Sun Group delegation and introduced VKU as a leading university in digital technology and digital economy education, currently serving nearly 8,000 students. He also highlighted VKU’s network of more than 200 strategic partners both domestically and internationally, as well as its extensive implementation of international training programs, enterprise semesters, internships, and academic exchange activities aimed at enhancing students’ professional competencies and global integration.
VKU and the Sun Group ecosystem have already established an effective cooperation foundation through a trilateral collaboration model among VKU, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand, and Sun World Ba Na Hills. This model has been successfully implemented, creating valuable opportunities for students to study, undertake internships, and gain experience in an international working environment, while also generating positive outcomes in aligning education with industry needs. Building upon these achievements, VKU expects to expand its collaboration with Sun Group on a broader scale, particularly in training, internships, recruitment, and the development of high-quality human resources to meet the demands of future key projects.

During the session, Sun Group representatives shared the corporation’s human resource development strategy to support its large-scale projects in the coming years. In addition to preparing for the launch and operation of new hotel complexes in Da Nang in partnership with IHG, which are expected to open from late 2026 through 2027, Sun Group is also expanding its entertainment, hospitality, and service ecosystem nationwide. By 2030, the Group is expected to recruit approximately 50,000 employees to serve key projects in Phu Quoc, Ha Long, Ho Chi Minh City, and many other localities across Vietnam.
The two sides discussed several practical cooperation directions, focusing on internship programs, enterprise semesters, recruitment connections, and professional skill development for students. Sun Group expressed its interest in welcoming VKU students to participate in flexible internship programs across its hotels, entertainment complexes, and member units, while also collaborating in developing training models closely aligned with real business needs.
Notably, with many common interests in the fields of entertainment and digital media, Sun Group highly appreciated the potential for cooperation with VKU, particularly in jointly training and developing human resources for service industries, technology, and digital communications in the future. In addition, both parties agreed to strengthen connections through annual Job Fairs, academic competitions, professional mentoring programs, student sponsorship initiatives, and community-oriented social responsibility projects. To establish a solid foundation for a long-term and sustainable partnership, VKU and Sun Group also agreed to identify an appropriate time to officially sign a cooperation agreement. At the same time, the two parties will jointly develop a roadmap and implementation plan for specific collaborative activities in each phase, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and tangible benefits for students, the University, and the enterprise.
The working session was conducted in an open and productive atmosphere, opening up numerous opportunities for future cooperation between VKU and Sun Group. The partnership is expected to further enhance training quality in alignment with industry needs while creating more internship, employment, and career development opportunities for VKU students.
