Continuing to affirm its orientation towards the internationalization of higher education and the development of scientific research according to international standards, the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang is accelerating its strategic cooperation with Hongik University (Korea) in scientific research activities, scholar and student exchanges, and the co-supervision of PhD candidates and Master’s students.

Meeting and exchanging with postgraduate students from Hongik University

Within the framework of the cooperation program, starting from June 2026, VKU officially received 01 PhD candidate and 04 Master’s students from Hongik University (Korea) to conduct their research and academic exchange program at VKU for a duration of 06 months. This is an activity of significant importance, contributing to the realization of an in-depth international research cooperation model, while opening up numerous opportunities to develop joint research groups, international scientific publications, and high-quality human resource training between the two universities.

On this occasion, Associate Professor, PhD. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, Leaders of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, along with VKU lecturers directly participating in the research co-supervision, held a meeting and exchanged research orientations with the delegation of postgraduate students from Hongik University.

During their research period at VKU, the PhD candidates and Master’s students will collaborate with the University’s lecturers and research groups to implement various topics in advanced digital technology fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, large language models (LLMs), digital copyright, data security, and enhancing the trustworthiness of AI systems. These are all research directions currently receiving special attention from the international scientific community, while perfectly aligning with the development orientation of strategic technology sectors that VKU prioritizing for investment.

The research topics focus on highly topical issues such as evaluating the trustworthiness of generative AI content, detecting and tracing the origin of images generated by Diffusion models, applying machine learning in optimizing blockchain transactions, researching copyright infringement risks of large language models, and constructing adaptive decision-making mechanisms to enhance the safety and transparency of artificial intelligence systems.

Through the cooperation program with Hongik University, VKU creates the most favorable conditions regarding infrastructure, research facilities, a team of co-supervising lecturers, and academic exchange activities. Simultaneously, it promotes the formation of joint research groups, specialized seminars, and encourages participation in reporting research results at international scientific conferences organized by VKU, such as CITA, DEFI, AWRIS, and other prestigious academic forums. This approach not only contributes to elevating the quality of postgraduate training but also establishes a foundation to develop strategic technology research directions, increase academic value, and expand VKU’s international cooperation network.

Receiving PhD candidates and Master’s students from Hongik University not only contributes to promoting international cooperation in scientific research but also continues to affirm VKU’s capacity to attract international researchers to study, conduct research, and develop scientific projects in Vietnam. This also stands as a testament to the University’s development orientation in building a research-oriented university environment according to international standards, strengthening scientific publications, developing high-level human resources, and step-by-step asserting VKU’s position in the regional and international academic cooperation network.
