Representing the Ellacy Foundation, Mr. Cuong Nguyen expressed his impression of VKU’s development results, and introduced the Ellacy Foundation’s operations in Vietnam over the past 14 years. During this time, the Foundation has successfully connected and implemented many international cooperation programs for major universities, contributing to bringing study, scholarship, and international exchange opportunities to Vietnamese students. The Ellacy Foundation, with its mission to connect scholarship sources from US universities, supports Vietnamese students to access international education at reasonable costs, while accompanying them in the process of counseling and completing study abroad procedures. Ellacy’s ecosystem currently includes support programs for high school students, an educational technology platform (EdTech), leadership training programs, and postgraduate training.

Within the framework of the working session, the two sides discussed many potential cooperation contents. Prominent among these are international joint training programs under the 2+2 or 3+1 model, allowing students to study the initial phase at VKU and complete the program at partner universities in the United States to receive international degrees. In addition, the 4+0 model was also proposed, under which students study the entire program in Vietnam but receive a degree from a foreign university, helping optimize costs while still accessing international training standards. The two sides also discussed lecturer exchange programs, scientific research cooperation, organizing modules with the teaching participation of international professors, as well as scholarship programs for VKU students with support levels from 40-50% and up to more than 100% for excellent cases.

The working session took place in an open, positive atmosphere and achieved many important agreements. The two sides agreed to develop a medium-term cooperation plan for the next 2-3 years, aiming to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and promote the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the participation of partner universities in the United States, opening up many international study, research, and development opportunities for VKU students and lecturers in the coming time.

The working session is an important beginning in the process of establishing and developing cooperative relations between VKU and the Ellacy Foundation, contributing to expanding the University’s international partner network, promoting the implementation of joint training programs, academic exchanges, and international scholarships, thereby improving training quality and global integration capabilities for students.
