VKU Organizes the 2025–2026 Student Scientific Research Conference: Fostering Innovation and Affirming Students’ Research Capabilities

To promote scientific research activities among students and create a meaningful academic platform that inspires creativity, passion for research, and contributes to improving learning quality, on June 23, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, successfully organized the Student Scientific Research Conference for the Academic Year 2025–2026.

The conference was attended by Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU, representatives of faculties and departments, members of evaluation panels and judging committees from enterprises, academic supervisors, and students conducting and presenting their research projects.

In his remarks, Dr. Tran The Son highly appreciated the students’ serious and creative research spirit as well as the dedication and responsibility of faculty supervisors. He emphasized that VKU consistently invests in and develops mechanisms and policies to strongly encourage student research activities. Notably, in the 2025–2026 academic year, the number of research projects increased significantly, while the reward budget for award-winning projects doubled compared to the previous year.

The results of this year’s conference demonstrated remarkable growth in both the quantity and quality of student research. Many projects were systematically developed, featuring solid theoretical foundations, strong academic value, and high practical applicability. Particularly, many first- and second-year students confidently presented their research before expert panels, reflecting their proactive mindset, creativity, and aspiration to master emerging technologies. These achievements reaffirm the effectiveness of VKU’s educational environment, which integrates learning with research and innovation.

According to the annual report, a total of 95 research projects were registered and implemented, representing a 106% increase compared to the 2024–2025 academic year. Among them, 56 projects successfully passed evaluation at the “Pass” level or higher, marking a 43% increase from the previous year.

A total of 49 outstanding projects were selected for presentation at the university-level conference, including 19 oral presentations evaluated through reports and Q&A sessions before expert panels, and 30 poster presentations. Furthermore, 13 projects resulted in scientific publications featured in international conference proceedings and domestic or international academic journals.

The student research projects showcased a wide range of disciplines while closely aligning with current technological, digital economy, and sustainable development trends. In the field of Information Technology, many studies focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Blockchain, IoT, GIS, AI assistants, Large Language Models (LLMs), Knowledge Graphs, and digital transformation applications in healthcare, education, smart cities, agriculture, security, and elderly care.

In Computer Engineering and Electronics, research topics concentrated on AI implementation on FPGA platforms, embedded systems, IoT, UAVs, sensor networks, information security, hardware acceleration, and solutions for environmental monitoring, disaster warning systems, intelligent transportation, and cybersecurity.

In the field of Digital Economy and E-Commerce, students explored consumer behavior in digital environments, the impacts of AI, AR, UGC, FOMO, influencer marketing, social media, e-commerce, green consumption, circular economy, and sustainable tourism. These studies reflected emerging trends in digital transformation and green economic development.

Overall, the projects addressed practical challenges through interdisciplinary approaches, demonstrating students’ research competence, innovative thinking, and ability to apply technology to socio-economic development.

Three outstanding student teams received First Prize awards

At the closing ceremony, the evaluation committee selected and honored outstanding student research groups with 03 First Prizes, 07 Second Prizes, 09 Third Prizes, and 30 Consolation Prizes. Additionally, 03 Best Poster Awards were presented to the most impressive poster presentations.
