On May 27, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a meeting with students selected to participate in the 2026 Cultural Exchange Program at KMUTNB, Thailand. The meeting aimed to provide information about the program, guide students through the necessary procedures, and encourage them before joining international academic and cultural exchange activities in Thailand.

Overview of the meeting

Attending the meeting were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU; representatives of relevant units and departments; lecturers accompanying the delegation; and six students selected for the program. These outstanding students were chosen from 23 applicants based on English interview results, academic performance, extracurricular activities, language certificates, and contributions to the community.

In his remarks, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho emphasized that the cultural exchange program with KMUTNB is one of the international cooperation activities that has been effectively maintained for many years between VKU and international partner institutions. The program provides valuable opportunities for students to study and experience an international environment, improve their language proficiency, enhance intercultural communication skills, and broaden their understanding of regional cultures. Therefore, each participant not only represents themselves but also serves as an ambassador of VKU and Vietnam to the international community. The responsibility, learning attitude, and global mindset demonstrated by each member of the delegation will continue to contribute to maintaining, strengthening, and expanding VKU’s international partnerships in the future.

In addition, delegation members were advised to strictly comply with the program regulations, follow the schedule, and maintain the positive image of VKU students throughout all activities. Students are also encouraged to be proactive, open-minded, and active in communicating and connecting with international peers to broaden their cultural understanding and enhance their global competencies. The positive achievements of previous VKU student delegations in international programs have helped build trust with partner institutions and created more opportunities for study, exchange, and scholarships for VKU students.

According to the plan, the students will participate in three online sessions on May 29, June 1, and June 4, 2026, before traveling to Thailand for on-site study, cultural exchange, and experiential activities at KMUTNB from June 8 to June 14, 2026. To facilitate students’ participation, VKU will provide financial support of USD 468.5 per student through funding from the Korean ODA Project. This support covers round-trip airfare, insurance, accommodation, main meals, and transportation expenses under the program in Thailand.

The meeting not only provided the delegation members with a comprehensive understanding of the program and the necessary preparations for the upcoming trip, but also encouraged them to participate with confidence, showcasing the competence, professionalism, and global mindset of VKU students. The program once again demonstrates VKU’s strong commitment to broadening international learning and exchange opportunities for students, contributing to the implementation of its internationalization strategy, strengthening global competencies, and fostering the development of high-quality human resources in the context of globalization.
