VKU meets and works with the Korea IT Cooperation Center in Ho Chi Minh City (KICC)
On the afternoon of June 10, 2024, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), The University of Danang held a meeting with the Korea IT Cooperation Center in Ho Chi Minh City (KICC). The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences and collaborate on promoting Vietnam and Korea ICT industry sector.
An overview of the meeting
In attendance were Mr. Park Min Kyu – Chairman of the Korea IT Cooperation Center in Ho Chi Minh City, PhD. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU, along with units’ leaders from both sides.

At the meeting, PhD. Tran The Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming and working with KICC. He noted that VKU is a public university under the University of Danang, established in 2020. Currently, VKU has nearly 6,000 students enrolled in fields related to information technology, communication, and the digital economy. The university has maintained a stable admission target of 1,500 students, with an average entry score of 24 points for 15 majors/specialities. Additionally, VKU is the only university in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam that receives significant investment and support from both the Vietnamese and South Korean governments. VKU also collaborates with several universities in South Korea, such as Kyung Hee University. Notably, VKU has implemented a bilingual (Korean-Vietnamese) Information Technology Engineering program, which is a distinctive feature of its educational system. This program aims to train high-quality human resources for both domestic and international labor markets, particularly targeting the high-level labor market in South Korea.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Park Min Kyu – President of KICC in Ho Chi Minh city, expressed his gratitude for the warm and thorough welcome provided by VKU and highly appreciated the achievements VKU has made over the years. Mr. Park Min Kyu also introduced ongoing projects such as the Korea IT School, which aims to connect young Vietnamese IT talents with South Korean ICT enterprises. He stated that VKU would be a reliable partner in the future.
The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, opening a promising future of sustainable and effective cooperation in the coming years between VKU and the Korea IT Cooperation Center in Ho Chi Minh city. Both sides are committed to maintaining collaboration and implementing specific cooperation programs, which will not only bring benefits to students but also contribute to the development of the information technology sector in the region.
