VKU launched the final round of Danang AI4Life 2025, highlighting its pioneering role in artificial intelligence (AI) training and application

On the morning of December 27, 2025, at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Danang University, the Opening Ceremony of the Final Round of the Artificial Intelligence and Application Competition – Danang AI4Life 2025 was solemnly held. The event marked the culmination of a large-scale, in-depth, and highly practical academic platform in the field of artificial intelligence for students. The event stands out as a key highlight of Danang AI4Life 2025 series of activities, further affirming VKU’s pioneering role in fostering an environment for AI training, research, and application closely linked to real-life issues of social life.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony was attended by the university’s leadership, scientists, experts, representatives of enterprises, and domestic and international partners. Representing VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the university and Head of the Competition Organizing Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector and leaders of various departments and faculties of the university. On the international guest side, the event welcomed Prof. Dr. Kang Sun Moo from Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea. Representatives of sponsors and partners included Ms. Hiroko Kamiunten (NiX Education Joint Stock Company), Mr. Le Hong Linh and Mr. Muhammad Tariq (FPT Software Central Region), Mr. Ngo Van Vinh (GLD-LAB Company, Japan), Ms. Tran Hanh Trang – CEO of Enosta Group, along with numerous lecturers, experts, judges, and finalist teams.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU’s Rector – emphasized that artificial intelligence is becoming a foundational technology with a profound impact on all aspects of socio-economic life. In this context, Danang AI4Life, initiated and organized annually by VKU since 2024, seeks to create an open academic environment that encourages students to conduct research, innovate, and develop AI solutions to serve people and the community. The competition not only helps students hone their professional skills, algorithmic thinking, and technological competencies, but also fosters a strong sense of social responsibility and a commitment to contributing to sustainable development. Through this initiative, VKU sincerely acknowledges and highly appreciates the support of enterprises and international organizations, particularly the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Kyung Hee University (Korea), NiX Education, FPT Software Central Vietnam, GLD-LAB, and Enosta Group, whose contributions have been instrumental in the success and widespread impact of Danang AI4Life 2025.

The strong appeal of this year’s competition is clearly reflected in its impressive scale of participation, with a total of 230 teams with 966 students in the AI ​​for Life category and 44 teams with 176 students in the AI ​​Challenge category. After the preliminary and semi-final rounds, 20 outstanding teams advanced to the final round of the AI ​​for Life category and 40 teams in the AI ​​Challenge category. The Danang AI4Life 2025 final round took place on December 26th and 27th, 2025, with two competition categories. Specifically, on the afternoon of December 26th, the AI ​​Challenge Finals took place, with 40 teams competing in advanced engineering problems related to computer vision and natural language processing. Following this, on the morning of December 27th, the AI4Life Finals were held, during which the 20 best teams officially presented and defended their artificial intelligence products and solutions. The projects at Danang AI4Life 2025 cover diverse application domains such as healthcare (with solutions supporting disease diagnosis and health monitoring for the elderly, children, and patients with chronic illnesses), education (support for people with disabilities and career guidance), smart agriculture, environmental protection, information security, and smart cities, reflecting the humanitarian values and social responsibility embraced by today’s generation of technology students.
