In response to the nationwide movement “All people exercise following the great Uncle Ho’s example” and to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (January 3, 2020 – January 3, 2025), towards commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Party Congresses at all levels, and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2025), on the afternoon of July 29, 2025, VKU – the University of Danang held the Opening Ceremony of the Pickleball Tournament: VKU – Aspiration to Reach Further 2025.

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, M.A. Tran Dinh Son – Chairman of the University Trade Union
along with members of the University Trade Union Executive Committee, representatives of unit leaders across the university, nearly 60 athletes, and all officials, lecturers, and staff of the university gathered in full attendance.

In his opening speech, M.A. Tran Dinh Son – Chairman of the Trade Union, emphasized that the Pickleball Tournament VKU – Aspiration to Reach Further 2025 is not only an opportunity for physical training and health enhancement, but also a playground for connection, spreading the spirit of solidarity, enthusiasm, and the collective aspiration of VKU to reach further. This activity holds special significance as it takes place in the atmosphere of celebrating the university’s 5th anniversary, major national events, and towards the celebration of the 80th National Day and Party Congresses at all levels. It reflects the responsibility, bravery, and innovative spirit of VKU’s staff and employees. With nearly 60 athletes and around 150 supporters creating a vibrant and festive sports day at VKU, this is also an occasion to spread positive energy, foster motivation, and together build a professional, culturally rich working environment, healthy to dedicate and to affirm the position of VKU – Aspiration to Reach Further.

The tournament will take place from July 29, 2025 to August 1, 2025, with nearly 60 athletes participating in nearly 100 matches across 10 competition events, divided into two groups: Serie A (Mixed Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles); Newbie (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed)

Immediately after the opening ceremony, matches in the Serie A group commenced with intense, thrilling contests that attracted a lot of attention and enthusiastic support from spectators. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held on the afternoon of August 1, 2025.

The Pickleball Tournament: VKU – Aspiration to Reach Further 2025 not only continues the tradition of physical training and competition across the university but also ignites the spirit of unity, self-overcoming, for a collective that is united, healthy, and full of ambition. The exciting competitions, enthusiastic cheering, and fair-play spirit of the athletes are clear evidence of the strong vitality and distinctive identity of VKU – a university that is steadily affirming its position and reaching further on its path of sustainable development.
