05 VKU Students Participate in the International Internship Program at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand

Continuing to affirm the orientation of training internationalization and creating opportunities for students to experience global learning and working environments, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang (UD) has selected and dispatched 05 students to participate in the international internship program at the College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand. This brings the total number of students participating in cultural exchanges, academic exchanges, and long-term international internships deployed since the beginning of 2026 to nearly 70 students. The program takes place from July 1 to August 31, 2026, providing students with opportunities to access professional research and internship environments, enhancing their professional capacity, foreign language proficiency, and working skills in an international context.

05 VKU students welcomed at KMUTNB

The student delegation consists of 05 students: Duong Cong Cuong (class 22AD), Dang Kieu Trang (class 23GIT), Nguyen Thị Ly (class 23GIT), Do Phu Minh Duc (class 23AI), and Vo Thanh Nam (class 23SE4) majoring in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. They were selected based on their academic results, professional capacity, foreign language proficiency, and skills meeting the requirements of the international internship program. During their two-month stay at KMUTNB, the students will participate in internships, research, and experience a professional working environment at the College of Industrial Technology, while engaging in academic exchanges with international lecturers and students, thereby enhancing their professional capacity, career skills, and adaptability in a multicultural environment.

This is one of the typical international cooperation programs between VKU and KMUTNB, following many student exchange activities, academic cooperation, and research that have been effectively implemented by the two universities in recent times. Through the program, students not only accumulate practical experience but also have opportunities to develop career skills, build and expand international connection networks, and enhance integration capacity, standing ready to meet the requirements of high-quality human resources in the digital technology field.

Meeting session prior to participating in the program

Before the student delegation departed, VKU organized a meeting, encouragement, and orientation session aimed at equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in the program effectively and safely. The meeting was attended by VKU leaders along with representatives of relevant units. Here, students were fully briefed on the program objectives, contents, working schedule, and regulations during the internship process; at the same time, they were guided on immigration procedures, the online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) declaration, as well as notes on demeanor, discipline, code of conduct, communication skills, and safety measures during their study and stay in Thailand.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU congratulated the students who were excellently selected to participate in the program, while emphasizing that this is a valuable opportunity for them to achieve comprehensive development in knowledge, skills, and international integration mindset. Thereby, he expressed his desire for the students to promote a spirit of proactiveness and creativity, to constantly learn, seriously comply with the regulations of the program, actively participate in cultural exchanges, and spread the beautiful image of VKU students in the international environment. Simultaneously, the experiences and knowledge accumulated during the internship will be a valuable asset for them to continue developing themselves and share with the VKU student community upon their return.

To create favorable conditions for students to participate in the program, VKU supports each student with 468.5 USD from the funding source of the ODA Project “Enhancing education – training, governance and research capacities of Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology in the period of 2022-2027”. In addition, KMUTNB supports 10,000 THB/month (including accommodation costs at the dormitory), contributing to helping students feel secure in studying and interning throughout their participation in the program.

The continuous sending of students to participate in international exchange and internship programs at prestigious universities and enterprises in the region and around the world further affirms the internationalization strategy of VKU. This is also evidence of VKU’s commitment to training high-quality human resources possessing professional capacity, career skills, and international integration capabilities, meeting the development requirements of the digital economy in the new era.
