VNU-CEA Accreditation Council Unanimously Approves VKU Institutional Quality Assessment Results
On March 7, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, participated in the 42nd meeting of the Accreditation Council of the Center for Education Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA) to review and validate the institutional quality assessment results of the University.

Overview of the meeting
The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director General of the Quality Management Department under the Ministry of Education and Training. Representatives from VNU-CEA included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Management Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Accreditation Council, along with other council members. Representing VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of the University; Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector; and leaders from the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance.

Reports presented at the meeting
At the meeting, the Council listened to Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho presenting VKU’s institutional self-assessment report. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Secretary of the External Evaluation Team, delivered a summary of the external review process and evaluation results for VKU. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, representing the Professional Subcommittee, presented a report on the appraisal process, evaluation outcomes, and the subcommittee’s recommendations regarding the University’s external assessment results.
Following a rigorous, objective, and comprehensive review, the Council recognized VKU as a young higher education institution established in 2020 that has demonstrated proactive, systematic, and responsible implementation of quality assurance and accreditation regulations. The successful accreditation of three academic programs in 2023 and the initiation of institutional accreditation as soon as eligibility conditions were met clearly reflect the University’s commitment to building and sustaining a culture of quality.
During the evaluation cycle from 2021 to 2025, VKU was acknowledged for several notable achievements, including stable and growing financial resources; significant investment in facilities and technical infrastructure; a consistent approach to academic program development; strengthened quality governance systems; positive enrollment results; effective organization of teaching, student care, and learner support; and expanded international cooperation, English-speaking academic environments, and collaborative scientific research. Notably, the employment rate of VKU graduates remains strong, with a significant proportion working in organizations and enterprises with international involvement. Importantly, the Council conducted a secret ballot and unanimously adopted the resolution approving VKU’s institutional quality assessment results, with 100% of attending members voting in favor.

During the discussion session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap emphasized that in the first five years of establishment and development, the University has prioritized resources for governance, institutional system development, student recruitment, brand building, and strengthening quality assurance conditions. From a young institution formed from diverse resources, VKU has gradually built a spirit of unity and consensus, creating a strong internal capacity to overcome challenges and affirm its reputation and quality.
Based on the evaluation results and feedback from the Council, VKU plans to focus in the next five years on strengthening scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship; developing a research-oriented faculty; improving internal governance mechanisms; and prioritizing resources for research and technology transfer closely linked to practical needs.
The approval of VKU’s institutional quality assessment results by the Accreditation Council marks an important milestone, recognizing the collective efforts of the University in its development journey. It also serves as a strong motivation for VKU to continue innovating, enhancing the quality of education, advancing scientific research, serving the community, and expanding international integration toward sustainable development in the future.
