VKU works and signs cooperation agreement with Jeju National University (South Korea), expanding opportunities for Academic Exchange and Research
On the morning of January 16, 2026, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang University, held a working session and signed a cooperation agreement with Jeju National University (JNU), Korea. The agreement aims to strengthen institutional linkages and promote collaboration in education and training, scientific research, and academic exchange between the two universities.

Attending the working session, on the VKU side, were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the university and representatives from the university’s departments, faculties, and centers. On behalf of JNU, Prof. Kim Eun Hee – Head of the International Relations Office, and representatives from relevant specialized units were present.

Speaking at the working session, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Jeju National University to visit and work at VKU. He emphasized that the signing of the cooperation agreement with JNU represents an important milestone in VKU’s strategy to expand international cooperation, especially with prestigious universities in Korea. VKU identifies the training of high-quality human resources capable of working in an international environment as a core mission, in which internship programs, practical training, and the transfer of advanced educational models play a key role. Through the cooperation agreement, the two sides are expected to soon implement student and faculty exchange programs as well as joint research activities, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the educational quality and scientific research capacity.

Representing JNU, Professor Kim Eun Hee – Head of the JNU International Relations Office, highly appreciated VKU’s development potential and internationalization orientation. She noted that Jeju National University (JNU) is a national public university of the Republic of Korea, located on Jeju Island. Established in 1952, JNU has strengths in multidisciplinary training and research, and maintains an extensive network of international cooperation. On this basis, JNU expressed its desire to promote substantive and effective cooperation between the two universities, especially in the areas of academic exchange, student exchange, and joint research activities, thereby contributing to the advancement of educational cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged information on their respective training models, research strengths, and future development orientations. On this basis, VKU and JNU agreed to promote cooperation in a number of areas, including the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty exchange, staff and personnel exchange, as well as the joint implementation of scientific research activities and collaborative research projects. The agreed cooperation contents were assessed as practical and well aligned with the development strategies of both institutions.
The program concluded with the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and Jeju National University, marking a new milestone in bilateral cooperation and opening up numerous opportunities for learning, research, and academic exchange for faculty members and students of both universities. In the future, VKU and JNU will continue to cooperate closely to concretize the agreed contents, aiming to build a long-term, effective, and sustainable cooperative partnership.
