VKU worked with Bitdeer Company (Singapore): Connecting high-quality resources in the field of digital technology
On the afternoon of April 21, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Danang had a working session and discussed cooperation with Bitdeer Company – a technology corporation headquartered in Singapore, operating in the fields of high-performance computing, AI and blockchain technology.
Overview of the working session
Attending the working session on Bitdeer’s side were Ms. Sara Suo – CEO and Mr. Alvin Chan – Global Human Resources Director; on VKU’s side, there were Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, Representatives of Departments, Faculties, and Centers of the University, and Mr. Tran Trung Hieu – Representative of the Investment Promotion Support Center – Office of the Da Nang City People’s Committee.

Speaking at the working session, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University was pleased to welcome Bitdeer representatives to visit and work at VKU. According to him, VKU was established in 2020 with an annual enrollment quota of 1,500 students and an average entrance score of 24 points for 19 majors/specializations in the fields of information technology, communication and digital economy. Up to now, VKU has had nearly 7,000 students, aiming to reach 8,000 – 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students by the end of 2025. The current staff consist of over 250 people, including nearly 70 PhDs and associate professors, accounting for nearly 41%. In addition, VKU has focused on connecting and building a network of over 200 strategic partners including domestic and international organizations and enterprises participating in the process of training, recruiting, sponsoring and implementing training cooperation of the Global Bilingual Programs like English-Vietnamese, Japanese-Vietnamese and Korean-Vietnamese as well as conducting many activities, playgrounds, international academic-cultural exchange programs, practical projects, internships, business cooperation, foreign – language teaching enhancement, especially the requirement of writing/presenting graduation theses completely in English. VKU is always ready to cooperate with large domestic and foreign technology enterprises, aiming to connect training with practice, create career opportunities for students and at the same time contribute to the strategy of attracting high-tech investment in Da Nang. With its strengths in in-depth training in the fields of AI, semiconductor design, digital technology and bilingual – internationalization programs, VKU is confident that it can meet Bitdeer’s current and future human resource needs.

At the meeting, Bitdeer representative – Ms. Sara Suo, CEO said that Bitdeer Technologies Group is a global technology corporation headquartered in Singapore, operating in core areas such as high-performance computing, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology and data centers. Founded by Jihan Wu – Co-founder of Bitmain, Bitdeer is currently one of the world’s leading providers of cloud computing infrastructure and services for digital asset mining, while expanding into other advanced technology areas such as AI, machine learning and big data. The company operates large-scale data centers in the US, Norway and Asia, with the aim of providing efficient, sustainable and secure computing solutions. Bitdeer is listed on the NASDAQ (USA) under the stock code BTDR, demonstrating its global stature and reputation. The company is expanding its operations in Vietnam and considers Da Nang a strategic destination in its plan to develop human resources and expand its technology center in Southeast Asia.
Bitdeer expressed its desire to establish a long-term cooperative relationship with VKU in developing and recruiting high-quality human resources, especially in key areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microchips, Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. The company’s representative said that Bitdeer is currently promoting plans to open an office in Da Nang – a rapidly developing technology center in Vietnam, and at the same time wishes to participate in VKU’s annual Job Fair to connect directly with students, seek potential candidates and build a sustainable recruitment channel, contributing to the development of the technology ecosystem in the Central region.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of implementing activities such as: organizing specialized seminars, internship programs – business semesters, scholarship support, and developing research – application projects in businesses.
The working session opened up many prospects for practical cooperation, especially in the context that Da Nang is promoting the development of high technology and digital transformation, aiming to become a national innovation center. The fact that technology corporations like Bitdeer come into contact with VKU is a testament to VKU’s training reputation and position in the digital technology human resource ecosystem in the Central – Central Highlands region and the whole country.
