VKU welcomes MSS and KOSME delegations to discuss and expand cooperation in international training and startups
On the morning of August 29, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang warmly welcomed the delegation from Korea’s Ministry of SMEs & Startups (MSS) and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) to the campus for a working visit, aiming to discuss and expand cooperation in various strategic areas.
Overview of the meeting
Attending the meeting were Mr. Hangyo Cho – Deputy Director of Human Resources Development (KOSME), Mr. Junghyeon Yeom – Head of Human Resources Projects (KOSME), Ms. Youngsoon Lee – Deputy Director of the Human Resources Policy Department (MSS), and Mr. Ohchul Kwon – Director of LikeLion Company (Korea). On the VKU side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU’s Rector, Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho along with leaders from various departments and faculties.

In his welcoming remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, expressed his delight in receiving the delegation and extended his gratitude to MSS, KOSME, and LikeLion for their support in implementing the K-Tech College 2025 training program for 38 VKU students, which has brought about practical results in line with the university’s development orientation. According to the Rector, VKU is the only Vietnamese – Korean university in Vietnam, benefitting greatly from the Korean Government’s support through KOICA in modern infrastructure, advanced curricula, and a high-qualified faculty team. On that basis, VKU consistently prioritizes cooperation with the Korean Government and enterprises to develop high-quality IT human resources, and expressed its hope that MSS and KOSME will continue to support the advancement of the Korean–Vietnamese bilingual program, invest in establishing a Korean cultural space at VKU, and further strengthen linkages with Korean enterprises in Vietnam.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Hangyo Cho expressed his sincere appreciation for VKU’s warm welcome and highlighted the role and functions of MSS and KOSME in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea. He emphasized the strong relevance of VKU’s cooperation proposals to the Korean Government’s policy on human resources development, and affirmed that KOSME would carefully consider, assess, and facilitate their implementation in the near future. He also extended an invitation to the VKU delegation to visit KOSME headquarters in Korea, in order to gain deeper insights into its practical activities and to foster opportunities for sustainable cooperation. The meeting not only opened up new pathways in human resource training, entrepreneurship and cultural exchange, but also further reinforced the international cooperation relationship between VKU and Korean agencies and enterprises. This marks an important milestone in VKU’s journey to affirm its pioneering role in cooperation in training, research, innovation, and at the same time contribute to creating an international learning and entrepreneurial environment for students.
