VKU: The competitive and exciting moment at the Final of Tetote Hackathon 2024
On the afternoon of May 14, 2023, at Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Da Nang, the Final of Tetote Hackathon 2024 – Go Global Together: Innovate for a Digital Future took place!.
Overview of the Final of Tetote Hackathon 2024
The contest is co-hosted by Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology in collaboration with Nix Education Joint Stock Company (Nix Education) and PlusAd Group Joint Stock Company, under the sponsorship of Vietnam Software Association (VINASA). The contest hopes to provide a playground for students who are passionate about programming and want to challenge themselves as well as to apply IT knowledge to solve practical problems.
Attending the final round of the contest, there was Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, Head of the Organizing Committee; The co-heads of the organizing committee including Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – General Director of Nix Education; Mr. Hasegawa Kenji – Director and Head of General Sales Department, PlusAd Group Joint Stock Company; Representatives of Business Leaders: NecScat Joint Stock Company, All Ones Life Joint Stock Company, Kumabase Joint Stock Company, Withus Joint Stock Company, PIPED BITS Joint Stock Company; along with leaders of units under the university, all lecturers, students and members of 06 excellent teams entering the final round.
Te-To-Te is a word in Japanese which means “手と手 (pronounced “Tê-tố-tê”) – Hand in hand”, expressing the spirit of the competition which is Student – University – businesses cooperate to solve social problems through the application of IT; Vietnam – Japan works together to give solutions of the VUCA era in the world.
Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the University gave the opening speech
In the opening speech, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the university congratulated the 6 excellent teams who entered the final round and thanked Japanese businesses for their interest, companionship, and sponsorship to the contest. With the training program for engineering enhancing Japanese language, VKU and Nix Education have had a successful cooperation with a typical training model as a premise for developing and replicating the programs for Korean language and other languages in the future at VKU. Tetote Hackathon 2024 is a useful playground to create the ideas applied in practice and to approach the actual development of digital technology and artificial intelligence to grasp the development trends of the society after graduation from the university.

Tetote Hackathon 2024 included 2 rounds, from March 20, 2024, to May 14, 2024, attracting 18 teams with nearly 100 students from many universities in the Central and Central Highlands: Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, University of Science and Technology (The University of Da Nang), Dong A University.
Through the preliminary round, Tetote Hackathon 2024 has found 06 excellent teams to enter the final round. The teams will program the product with guidance from Mentors appointed by the Organizing Committee, participate in workshops to report progress and share experiences, and complete the product with a brief video presentation about products within 3-5 minutes in Japanese or English.
The Kagayaki team is answering questions from the judgment board
At the final round, the teams presented their products with topics surrounding the environment, education, health, and cybersecurity within 20 minutes in Japanese or English and answered questions from the judgment board including the experts from VKU and Japanese businesses. With the meaning of an intellectual, academic, and highly attractive playground, Tetote Hackathon 2024 has the participation of sponsors including NAL Solutions, NecScat, Feelist, Deha Solutions from Japan with a total prize up to 30 million VND.

After a stressful competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to team Kimi No Kankyo; Second prize to Danang Speech team; Third prize to Late Bird team and 3 Consolation prizes to the remaining teams including Kagayaki, Never Give Up, AOI Sora.
The success of the Tetote Hackathon 2024 once again affirms the success of the program training IT engineers enhancing Japanese, contributing to the development of a student generation with highly qualified specialty, creative and internationally integrated, serving as a launching pad to bring human resources in information technology to new levels.

* First Prize – Award: 10,000,000 VND
Kimi No Kankyo team with the project “EcoFuturia” – student group: Phan Thao Nhi, Nguyen Dinh Quoc Khanh, Pham Hoang Bao, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Nguyen Phi Quan (22JIT – VKU).
* Second Prize – Award: 5,000,000 VND
Danang Speech team with the project “Model recognizing mispronunciation in Vietnamese” – student group: Ton That Ron, Vo Van Nam, Truong The Quoc Dung (21GIT – VKU).
* Third Prize – Award: 3,000,000 VND
Late Bird team with the project “Voice recovery application” – student group: Nguyen Thi Tra My, Nguyen Hoang Nhat Linh, Luu Van Duy, Nguyen Quoc Toan, Dang Phuc Long (University of Science and Technology, The University of Da Nang).
* Consolation Prize – Award: 2,000,000 VND/Prize
03 teams: Kagayaki (Electronic Medical Records project), Never Give Up (Deep Fake Fraud Prevention project), AOI Sora (Building a clean and green future project with EarthCare).
