VKU signed an MoU with Hanwha Life Insurance Limited Company and ChildFund Korea to incubate and nurture talents in information technology, communications and financial technology
On the morning of February 29, 2024, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, University of Danang (VKU) held a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation (MoU) with Hanwha Life Insurance Limited Company and ChildFund Korea to support the incubation and nurturing of talents in information technology, communications and financial technology in the Central and Central Highlands, Vietnam.
Overview of the MoU signing ceremony
Attending the signing ceremony, there were Mr. Hwang Jun Hwan – General Director and Chairman, Hanwha Life Insurance Co., Ltd. and Mr. Jeong Su Young- Director of Corporate Social Impact Initiative, ChildFund Korea (CFK). On the VKU side, there were Assoc. Prof. PhD. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU, Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of VKU Council, Board of Rectors, and Leaders of Faculties, Departments and Centers.

Delivering opening remarks at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. PhD. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU’s Rector expressed his joy and excitement at the cooperation among VKU, Hanwha Life and ChildFund Korea. According to him, this is an important step in creating new opportunities for VKU students in particular and students in the Central – Central Highlands region and the whole country in general. With the potential of Hanwha Life, CFK and VKU, he hoped that the 2024 Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands would expand its scale, improve its quality, and be worthy of being a national competition with broad influence and at the same time the Fintech industry training program at VKU would be implemented effectively to provide high quality human resources domestically and globally. We are committed to making the most of the resources and opportunities provided by our partners to develop both knowledge and skills for our generations of students more powerfully.

As a Representative of Hanwha Life, Mr. Hwang Jun Hwan said they were very excited to cooperate with VKU and CFK to jointly support and develop the future of students. He hoped that this cooperation would bring more opportunities to young people, helping them develop their full potential and become useful people for the community and society.

As a Representative of ChildFund Korea, Mr. Jeong Su Young stated that they were proud and happy to participate in this cooperation program with VKU and Hanwha Life and that educational support and development was one of their top goals. He hoped that through this cooperation, they could contribute to building a bright future for young people and the communities where we were living.
Based on the issues exchanged and discussed, representatives of the three parties signed a cooperation agreement in organizing the Informatics Olympiad in the Central-Central Highlands with related activities and supporting the specialization of the Financial Technology (Fintech) industry including infrastructure.

The cooperation among VKU, Hanwha Life and CFK is not only demonstrated through the signing of documents but is also important in implementing commitments, actions and close interactions to truly bring about meaning and value for VKU students in particular and Vietnamese students in general. VKU hopes that with fierce trust and determination from the three parties, each step forward in this cooperation will result in great benefits and profound meaning to the community.

Specifically in 2023, there were more than 2,000 candidates from more than 250 high schools across the country participating in this competition. Particularly, the 5th competition in 2024 is being implemented with the support and companionship from Hanwha Life and CFK, attracting 2,382 excellent candidates from 351 middle and high schools in 47 provinces/cities of Vietnam.
