VKU: Signed a cooperation agreement with the Information Technology Institute – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-ITI) to implement the cooperation program for PhD student, postdoctoral and scholarship policy
In the afternoon of April 8, 2023, in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang visited and worked with the leader of the Information Technology Institute – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-ITI). Welcoming the VKU delegation, on the side of VNU-ITI, there was Assoc. Prof. Ph.D.Tran Xuan Tu – Director, Dr. Le Quang Minh – Deputy Director of the Institute and representatives of management departments and researchers at VNU-ITI.
Information Technology Institute – Vietnam National University, Hanoi is a member research institute of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, established in 2001. The Information Technology Institute has the mission of training high-quality experts at the doctoral level, participating in undergraduate and postgraduate training in the field of information technology at universities and affiliated units of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; scientific research, application, consultancy and technology transfer in the field of information and communication technology in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country; training professional skills, fostering and improving the level of science and technology, popularizing new technologies for domestic and foreign enterprises, units and individuals.
Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Tran Xuan Tu – Director of Institute is pleased to welcome the VKU delegation, and share some suggestions on cooperation plans with VKU in the near future such as cooperation in implementing the research topic KC01, KC13, developing the unmanned Shuttle Bus system, co-hosting the Microchip Design Workshop, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector also expressed his pleasure when the delegation came to learn and exchange experiences at VNU-ITI. Currently, the Institute of Digital Science and Technology (eSTI) under VKU is newly established with the aim of creating a cohesive environment for cooperation, research exchange and technology transfer between the University and scientists at home and abroad, in order to maximize the quality of scientific research works as well as promote the application of science and technology in practice, commercialize scientific, technological and creative products of the University. With the development cooperation with specialized research institutions such as VNU-ITI, VKU in general and eSTI in particular will have the most effective support to achieve its development goals.
At the meeting, the two sides held a ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and with the contents of cooperation including: Exchange, co-guidance, scholarships for doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees (Postdoc); Exchange of researchers; Building joint research groups; Co-building and chairing the network and forum of ASEAN scholars and researchers; Cooperating in training and opening new training majors, especially in the field of new technologies, advanced materials, microchip design,…; Short-term refresher training cooperation in the form of ordering.
Immediately after the MoU signing ceremony, the two sides will consider to grant Postdoc scholarships to the eSTI-VKU Institutes excellent lecturers and researchers, Dr. Nguyen Huu Nhat Minh and 02 researchers Phan Thi Quynh Huong and Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang are co-guidance by ITI and VKU.
The visit and work of the VKU delegation at VNU-ITI ended well, opening up promising directions in implementing cooperation and promoting the development of the two sides in the future.
