VKU: Opening Ceremony of the Final Round of Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge – DDC 2025
On the morning of September 20, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge (DDC 2025) was held at Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang. The event was organized by VKU in collaboration with EvvoLab (Singapore), under the professional sponsorship of the National Cyber-security Association (NCA).

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Tran The Son – Vice President of VKU, Head of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Vince Chew – CEO of EvvoLab (Singapore), Co-Head of the Organizing Committee, and leaders and members of 25 participating teams from 14 universities across the country.
Dr. Tran The Son’s Opening Speech
In his opening speech, Dr. Tran The Son emphasized that DDC 2025 is not just an academic competition, but also an opportunity for students to showcase their talent, creativity, and mastery of knowledge in the field of cybersecurity. He stated: “In the digital age, data and information are invaluable assets, accompanied by increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges. DDC 2025 will be a platform for healthy competition, helping students hone their skills, expand their knowledge, and come up with innovative solutions to enhance information security.”

As a representative of the co-organizer, Mr. Vince Chew congratulated the participants and confirmed EvvoLab’s support in nurturing young cybersecurity talents. He expressed hope that DDC 2025 would serve as an important stepping stone for students to connect with businesses, gain real-world experience, and foster their passion for technology in the context of global integration.

DDC 2025 began with an online qualifying round, attracting 146 teams with 573 contestants from top universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Academy of Cryptography Techniques, Hanoi National University, UIT – VNU-HCM, HCMC University of Science and Technology, FPT, Duy Tan, and the host VKU. After an intense first stage, the 25 best teams have advanced to the Finals, where they will face an 8-hour challenge with a variety of tasks including web attacks, advanced cryptography, binary exploitation, reverse engineering, XXE vulnerabilities, and real-world cybersecurity scenarios.
With a total prize value of nearly 40 million VND and many other exciting prizes, DDC 2025 promises fierce competition, showcasing the will, intelligence, and resilience of technology students.
The opening ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of excitement, marking the beginning of a thrilling contest at the DDC 2025 Final Round. Over 8 hours of live competition at VKU, the 25 best teams from across the country will strive to conquer the toughest challenges in the field of cybersecurity. The closing ceremony and award presentation will take place on the morning of September 21, 2025, at VKU, promising to honor the most deserving contestants and bring an impressive end to the DDC 2025 season, spreading the spirit of technology and the resilience of Vietnamese students in the digital age.
