VKU leaders attended the 66th Anniversary Ceremony of KMUTNB and promoted strategic cooperation

Within the framework of the visit and work at King Mongkut’s University of North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand on February 19, 2025, the delegation of Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, along with leaders of the Training Department, Science and Technology – International Cooperation Department, Personnel and Administration Department participated in many important events, met and exchanged with KMUTNB leaders and promoted cooperation between the two universities.

Attending the 66th Anniversary Ceremony of KMUTNB

KMUTNB University is one of the top-five technology universities in Thailand, ranked highly in the world and has achieved many outstanding achievements in training, research and technology transfer. On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of its establishment, KMUTNB held a solemn ceremony with the participation of many senior leaders and domestic and international partners.

The event was not only an opportunity to review the development of KMUTNB but also marked the launch of the new Board of Directors, expressing gratitude for the important contributions of individuals and organizations to the development of the university. In particular, VKU was honored to be the only university from Southeast Asia invited to attend this event, affirming the close cooperation between the two universities.

Meeting and discussing with the Board of Directors of KMUTNB

On this occasion, VKU leaders met and congratulated the new Board of Directors of KMUTNB and discussed the directions of cooperation in the next phase. The two sides affirmed their commitment to continue expanding cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research and academic exchange, contributing to promoting the development of both universities.

Attending the International Conference on Sustainable Technologies, Energy and Materials (STEM 2025)

One of the important activities during the business trip was to attend the International Conference on Sustainable Technologies, Energy and Materials (STEM 2025). The conference attracted more than 120 scientific articles with the participation of many researchers and experts from all over the world.

At the conference, experts shared many new studies and development trends in the field of sustainable technology. This is also an opportunity for VKU to connect with international partners, expand research cooperation and apply science and technology into practice.

Discussing cooperation with KMUTNB International Training School

VKU leaders had a working session with KMUTNB International Training School to discuss training cooperation programs according to the Top-up model (2+2, 1+3, 3+1,…). The two sides also proposed lecturer and student exchange programs within the framework of VKU’s Global Program and KMUTNB’s international training program.

Expanding training cooperation between the two universities will create conditions for VKU students to access advanced learning and research environments, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the field of information technology and communications.

Visiting and learning about the operating model at Techno Park of KMUTNB

During the working trip, the delegation of VKU leadership had the opportunity to visit and learn about the operating model of Techno Park – the research and innovation center at KMUTNB. This is a typical model in connecting universities with businesses, promoting applied research and technology startups.

Practical experiences from Techno Park will be important lessons for VKU to orient and develop innovation projects, applying technology in training and scientific research.

Results and prospects of VKU – KMUTNB cooperation

In addition to official activities, VKU leaders met and connected with many international partners, scientists and experts to expand research and training cooperation in the coming time. The working trip of the VKU delegation to KMUTNB was a great success, contributing to strengthening the strategic cooperation relationship between the two universities and opening up many development opportunities in the next period. With the achieved results, VKU continues to affirm its position and role in the international cooperation network, while creating momentum to promote sustainable development in the field of information technology and communications.
