VKU hosted a meeting with the Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life Group and the ChorogUsan Fund for Children (Korea) to strengthen cooperation in developing human resources in technology and digital finance

On the morning of April 11, 2026, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang University, hosted a meeting with the Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life Group and the ChorogUsan Fund for Children (Korea), along with their delegation on the occasion of their participation in the Final Round of the 7th Central-Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad 2026. This event marks an important milestone in reinforcing the strategic and sustainable partnership between VKU and its leading international partners, while opening new opportunities for collaboration in training, research, and the development of high-quality human resources in technology and digital finance.

Overview of the working session

Representing Hanwha Life Group and the ChorogUsan Fund for Children were Mr. Lim Suk Hyun – Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life Group (Korea), Mr. Hwang Jun Hwan – Chairman of the Board of Members and Director of Hanwha Life Vietnam, Ms. Shin Joungwon – Director of Corporate Social Impact Initiatives of the ChorogUsan Fund for Children (Korea) along with other delegation members. On the VKU side were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, and leaders of various departments, faculties, and centers.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed key achievements from their cooperation in the 2024-2025 period. With strong support from its partners, VKU has successfully implemented numerous impactful initiatives, including the Central-Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad, VKU Campus Tour, specialized seminars on Fintech and innovation, the Hanwha Life Job Training program, as well as scholarship and international exchange programs for students. Notably, the establishment of the VKU Fintech Hub has provided a modern learning and research environment, strengthening connections between the university, industry partners, and the regional innovation ecosystem.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap expressed his sincere appreciation to Hanwha Life Group and the ChorogUsan Fund for their continued support and trust in VKU over the years. The Rector emphasized that these collaborations have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of education and reinforcing VKU’s position as a leading public university in digital technology and digital economy in Central Vietnam and nationwide. At the same time, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap also proposed several strategic directions for future cooperation, including expanding the scale and enhancing practice-oriented training programs, particularly in Fintech, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor integrated circuit design; strengthening the implementation of internship and training programs in collaboration with businesses, as well as international student exchange programs; supporting the development of modern laboratories and specialized research centers that meet international standards; and developing large-scale scholarship funds to attract and nurture young talents in technology.

Representing Hanwha Life Group, Mr. Lim Suk Hyun – Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life Group, highly appreciated VKU’s efforts and achievements in recent years, especially its rapid development, clear strategic vision, and training strategy aligned with market demands. He reaffirmed that VKU is a key strategic partner in Vietnam in implementing human resource development initiatives in technology and finance. He also expressed Hanwha Life’s commitment to sustaining long-term cooperation through expanded training programs, student support, and the promotion of research and innovation activities. He also emphasized that investing in education and people is the sustainable foundation for social development, and Hanwha Life is committed to continuing to make positive contributions to meaningful initiatives at VKU in the future.

As part of the visit, the delegation attended and observed activities at the Final Round of the 7th Central-Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad 2026, a prestigious academic competition organized by VKU to identify and nurture young talents in information technology. The presence and support of international partners is not only a great source of encouragement for the contestants and the university, but also demonstrates a deep concern for the development of digital human resources in Vietnam. The meeting was held in a spirit of openness, cooperation, and mutual understanding, resulting in agreements on key directions to elevate the partnership between VKU, Hanwha Life Group, and the ChorogUsan Fund to a new level. This collaboration will serve as a solid foundation for VKU to continue fulfilling its mission of training high-quality human resources, contributing to promoting digital transformation, developing the digital economy, and global integration, in line with the university’s strategic vision “Go Global – Lead the Future”.
