On the morning of January 30, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a Student Recognition Ceremony to honor students who achieved outstanding results at international and national competitions in the 2025–2026 academic year. The event aimed to acknowledge and celebrate students’ achievements while spreading the spirit of academic excellence, the aspiration to pursue knowledge, and international integration.

Attending the event, on behalf of The University of Danang were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Vice President, along with representatives of functional departments. On behalf of VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of The University of Danang and Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Secretary of the Party Committee; Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector; representatives of partner organizations and enterprises; leaders of departments and units, faculty members, parents, and the honored students of the University.

In his congratulatory remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU emphasized the profound significance of honoring students with outstanding achievements in 2025. He noted that the recognition ceremony is not only a timely acknowledgment and reward for students’ efforts and perseverance across academic competitions, scientific research, entrepreneurship, and innovation at international and national levels, but also an important occasion to strongly spread the spirit of learning, research, and the pursuit of knowledge throughout the University. The remarkable achievements of VKU students serve as vivid evidence of the University’s training quality, the effectiveness of its internationalization strategy, and the well-structured, comprehensive academic and innovation ecosystem that VKU has been investing in. The hundreds of prestigious awards won by VKU students in 2025 at highly competitive competitions clearly demonstrate their professional competence, creative thinking, global readiness, and strong teamwork spirit. Notably, two VKU student teams, ShieldNet and Medipath, successfully outperformed more than 1,500 teams nationwide to secure places in the Top 10 of the UniVentures 2025 incubation program. Each team received a support package worth USD 25,000 and participated in an intensive incubation program, providing compelling evidence of VKU students’ technological startup capabilities and their strong momentum for international integration. These achievements are the result of students’ determination and aspiration to excel, the companionship and support of their families, and especially the dedication, responsibility, and close mentorship of the University’s faculty and staff. On this foundation, VKU expects its students to continue nurturing their aspirations, continuously improving themselves, and transforming knowledge into the capacity to serve society, thereby creating practical value for the community, the locality, and the nation in the context of the strong promotion of science, technology, and innovation today.

In 2025, VKU recorded numerous outstanding student achievements across academic competitions, scientific research, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and culture–sports at international, national, regional, and city levels. These impressive results clearly reflect the students’ growth in professional competence, research mindset, and global readiness within a modern higher education environment.

Students with outstanding achievements in international competitions were formally honored

On prestigious academic platforms, VKU students have demonstrated strong professional competence by winning Third Prizes at the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) at both international and national levels, while also emerging as champions of the ICPC Central Vietnam Regional Contest. In addition, VKU students have continued to affirm their standing at the Vietnam National Olympiad in Informatics for Students, securing First, Second, and Third Prizes in the Specialized Informatics Category, reflecting a well-structured training foundation and strong academic depth in the field of information technology.

In the field of scientific research, VKU students have made a strong impression by winning First Prize at the ACIR+ International Conference on Applied Research and Innovation for Students in Southeast Asia (AWRIS 2025), along with numerous awards at the Euréka Student Scientific Research Awards, the University of Danang Student Scientific Research Awards, and the Danang City Student Scientific Research Competition. Notably, VKU students’ research projects and products were honored at the 2025 National Youth Creative Awards, affirming their ability to conduct research closely aligned with practical needs and societal demands.

In parallel, VKU students continue to affirm their entrepreneurial spirit and innovation mindset by achieving outstanding results at prestigious competitions, including being crowned National Champion of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2025 and representing Vietnam at the World Semifinals; winning First Prize and Third Prize at the VietFuture Awards 2025; earning First Prize at the Technology Startup Competition for Students – The University of Danang; as well as securing Second and Consolation Prizes at the ACIR+ Incubation for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition (APISI 2025). These achievements clearly reflect VKU students’ creative thinking, strong technological application capabilities, and aspiration to contribute in the context of digital transformation.

In the field of information security and cybersecurity, VKU students continue to demonstrate their strong expertise through outstanding achievements, including awards at Hackathon CTF 2025 within the framework of the Cybersecurity Conference, the National Cybersecurity Student Competition, HCMUS CTF, Digital Dragons – The Cybersecurity Challenge (DDC 2025), as well as the First Prize at the City-level Information Security Competition. In addition, VKU students have recorded remarkable accomplishments in technology and engineering fields, such as winning the championship at IoT Challenge 2025, earning Second Prize at the Vietnam Electronic Design Competition, and achieving high awards in FPGA & MCU Design, Integrated Circuit Design for Smart Cities, and Second Prize at the Autonomous Robot Control Programming Competition.

Through this recognition activity, VKU affirms its commitment to caring for, acknowledging, and accompanying students, regarding them as the center and driving force of sustainable development. This is not only a well-deserved recognition of students’ efforts and achievements, but also a strong source of motivation for them to continue nurturing their aspirations, reaching new heights, and spreading the spirit of academic excellence, creativity, and dedication. In doing so, students contribute to further strengthening the University’s position within the higher education system and in the digital era.
