Implementing a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang and FPT Software Central on funding tuition fees, supporting Korean language teaching and introducing high-quality human resources to the Korean labor market, on the morning of August 25, 2023, the two sides successfully organized the opening ceremony of the first course of Information Technology – Korean.

Attending the ceremony, FPT Software Central Company was attended by: Mr. Le Hong Linh – Director, Mr. Phan Trung Diep – Head of Resource Assurance Department, Mr. Nguyen Van Liem – Head of Training Department, Mr. Le Truong Hieu – Head of Recruitment Department, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hieu – Manager of Korean Market Software Project, Mr. Le Hoang Tien – Deputy Head of Korean Language Conversion Department. On the VKU side, there was Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho- Head of Training Department, Head of Global Program Coordination Board with representatives leaders of University’s faculties, departments and centers, lecturers, students and especially 33 excellent students were selected as the first students of Information Technology Program – Korean Enhancement.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho on behalf of Universitys leaders congratulated and thanked a cooperation between the two units, and emphasized the vision of Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology as the unique and leading university in the Central – Central Highlands region with the development orientation of the international university model, intensive training and research in the fields of information technology, communication and digital economy. With that development orientation, in addition to improving the quality of facilities and training programs, the University pays great attention to expanding job opportunities so that post-graduates can integrate into domestic and foreign labor markets. In particular, this training program has shown the University philosophy “Humanity – Dedication – Liberation”, which always creates the best learning conditions for students with humanity through the funding of tuition fees, teaching support from enterprises and the University, as well as facilitating students to access training according to international programs.

The cooperation program for training Information Technology Engineers –Korean Enhancement is to train high-quality human resources for the domestic and foreign labor markets, especially the highly qualified labor market in Korea. Students selected for this program are granted 100% scholarships and Korean learning materials by FPT Software Central, as well as other priority policies in the process of studying and recruiting.

Representatives of FPT Software Central, Mr. Phan Trung Diep – Head of Resource Assurance Department briefly introduced the content and objectives of the Korean Enhancement course, the program at the same time provides more professional knowledge; develop thinking as well as skills to work at Korean agencies, enterprises and organizations in Information Technology specialization. Therefore, encouraging students to strive, try to learn and express FPT Software Central will always accompany and support students the most conveniently and effectively in the learning process.

Student Dinh Viet Phuong, 21KIT class, said: We are very happy to be students of the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and participate in the IT Engineer Training Program – Korean Enhancement supported by FPT Software Central. We believe that through this program, we will be able to access new knowledge, scientific work and cultivate necessary soft skills, especially Korean to work and live for the future.

According to the plan, 33 students of the first 21KIT class (selected from more than 500 IT 2021 course students) participating in this program will learn Korean in parallel with the process of learning specialized knowledge at the university. With nearly 300 hours of Korean language training, after graduation, students are able to use Korean fluently, achieve TOPIK 3 level and are capable of exchanging and communicating in Korean with partners to implement Information Technology and related projects. In addition, students are also supported to update professional technological knowledge, etc. to work at Korean agencies, enterprises and organizations, as well as in the modern international environment, meeting the requirements of Vietnamese society and economy in the process of international integration, and can also continue to study and research at a higher level.

Todays opening ceremony is an important milestone on the journey of realizing VKUs development strategy for global training programs in the future.
