The University of Da Nang Signs Cooperation Agreement with Chung Ang University, Korea to Enhance Student Exchange in Joint Training Programs and Conduct Joint Research Projects

Continuing their business trip in Korea, on May 28, 2024, the delegation from the University of Da Nang (UD) and the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), UD, had a working session and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Chung Ang University, Korea (CAU).

Overview of the Working Session

The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Council of VKU, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice-Rector of VKU, representatives from the Department of Science & International Cooperation (DSIC) of UD and the Department of Science, Technology & International Cooperation (DSTIC) of VKU.

On the CAU side, Mr. Sang Gue Park, Director of Chung Ang University, and Mr. Kwang Yong Park, Rector of CAU, warmly and respectfully welcomed the delegation, reflecting the Vietnam-Korea friendship.

At the reception and working session, Mr. Sang Gue Park, Director of CAU, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced CAU as a large comprehensive university established in 1916. With over 100 years of operation, CAU currently has 10 member colleges and 16 graduate schools, with its main campuses located in the center of Seoul and Anseong, Korea. CAU is recognized as the top university in the nation in the fields of Pharmacy, Culture, and Arts Education. Currently, it has more than 30,000 students and over 500 international cooperation partners.

On behalf of the delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of UD, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from CAU. He shared that the University of Danang is a regional university with 6 member schools and 3 affiliation units, training over 60,000 students across various fields, and has a broad network of international partners. UD is receiving significant attention and investment from the Vietnamese government through the UD Urban Area Project, aiming to become one of the top three leading training and scientific research centers in the country with international prestige and standing.

From VKU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU, also expressed gratitude for the warm reception from CAU and stated that VKU is a leading university in the country for information technology, communication, and digital economy. VKU and CAU have many similar fields of study, suitable for cooperation in technology, AI, and more.

Mr. Sang Gue Park and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu represented and signed the cooperation MoU between CAU and UD.

At the working session, representatives from CAU and UD signed an MoU for cooperation on student exchanges through joint training programs and the implementation of joint research projects between CAU and UD through their member universities. Specifically, UD expressed a desire to send students to CAU for internships and studies to experience the culture, enhance personal capabilities, improve output quality, and internationalize the learning environment for UD students.

Concluding the session, UD and VKU hoped that this would be a meaningful and beneficial opportunity to improve the quality of training through cooperation with leading universities in Korea.
