On the morning of June 25, 2024, the Party Committee of Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang (UD) held a conference to review the Party building in the first 6 months of 2024 and deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

Overview of the conference

Attending the conference, on the side of UD, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Director of UD; on the side of VKU, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of VKU; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of VKU Council; comrades of the Standing Committee, the Party Committee, the affiliated Party Cells, the Trade Union Committee, the Youth Union and more than 100 Party members of the Party Committee.

In his opening speech, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Party Committee Secretary, Rector of VKU emphasized: in 2024, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Standing Committee, the Board of Directors of UD, the coordination of member units in the University of Danang, together with the solidarity and enthusiasm of all Party members, civil servants, employees and students, VKU has continued to maintain stability and development, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of VKU.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Party Committee of the university has comprehensively led VKU to successfully complete the assigned tasks in many flexible and appropriate forms and has always demonstrated the role of the political core of the leadership of the Party Committee of the university with outstanding achievements such as: 2024 admission scores for early admission methods (academic transcripts, competence assessment results, VKU’s separate admission policies) ranging from 24 points or more with a high number of applications compared to the 2023 enrollment season; promoting the implementation of ODA projects and international cooperation projects; strengthening cooperation with many domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations; improving the quality of training programs; implementing intensive training courses in English, Japanese, Korean; organizing academic competitions for students from VKU as well as high schools in the Central-Central Highlands region, etc., contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of VKU. Training activities are conducted synchronously, training programs are updated and innovated, quality assurance is focused on, facilities and finance are directed with attention, material life of the staff and employees is increasingly improved. Communication is strongly executed with high efficiency. Inspection and supervision are seriously enacted to maintain order, discipline, etc.

At the conference, comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of VKU Council presented the preliminary review on the Party building in the first 6 months of 2024 and deployed key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024 of the Party Committee. The review clearly stated the advantages and difficulties in implementing Party work in the first 6 months of 2024. However, with determination, solidarity, and unity in synchronous leadership, direction and implementation of solutions, the Party Committee of the university has successfully completed the political tasks set out in 2024.

As a result of that, the Party Committee of the university continues to propose solutions to implement key tasks in the last 6 months of 2024 with specific goals such as: continuing to strengthen the spirit of internal solidarity, pursuing the educational philosophy of Humanity – Dedication – Liberation and working with the spirit of dedication and innovation; improving the quality of training; promoting internationalization in training, enhancing international academic exchanges; innovating teaching methods, linking training activities with scientific research, startups and innovation activities; continuing to do well in consulting and promoting enrollment, determined to maintain the position of VKU with an admission score of 24 points or higher for all enrollment codes; successfully implementing the master’s program with the orientation of building a team of future source lecturers; focusing on conducting the educational institution accreditation every 5 years; completing the BPI/ISP process; completing student and parent data to build a portal for parents, students and alumni to reinforce student management; making improvements on education, support and psychological counseling for students; develop appropriate policies to support and better the quality of student scientific research; expanding the network of international university partners; continuing to recruit highly-qualified lecturers in order to improve quality and foster the teaching team; organizing activities towards the 5th anniversary of the university’s founding (expected to take place in early 2025); seeking support solutions in salary reform according to regulations to advance the material life of staff and lecturers; focusing on researching and building a political report for the upcoming 2025-2030 Congress with the spirit of VKU – Aspire to move beyond.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Director of UD acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the university Party Committee in the first 6 months of 2024 with outstanding results, especially in enrollment, maintaining a high admission score of 24 points or more for all training majors/minors, 100% of students’ graduation theses defended in English, maintaining training quality and discipline in managing students’ learning and practicing; making improvements on the quality of life for staff, lecturers, etc. Thereby, he suggested that the Party Committee of VKU should continue to promote the spirit of internal solidarity, focus on directing the development of staff, enhance the quality of training, pay attention to student activities and scientific research, concentrate on deploying international cooperation projects, etc. In particular, it is necessary to consider new party member development and some key tasks to contribute to completing the Resolution targets of the 2020-2025 term; direct and carry out the preparation work for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term in the coming time.

At the end of the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, on behalf of the Party Committee, sent his best wishes to all staff and wished the Party Committee and the university many successes and excellent completion of tasks in the last 6 months of 2024, contributing to the completion of the general goals of the Resolution of the university Party Congress for the term 2020-2025.
