Ready for the DDC 2026 Qualifying Round: A Regional Cybersecurity Arena Bringing Together 161 Teams from 38 Universities, Academies, and Research Institutes in Viet Nam and Abroad

Against the backdrop of rapid digital transformation and information technology development, cybersecurity and cyberspace safety have become critical priorities, requiring a high-quality workforce ready to respond to every challenge. With the aim of establishing an intensive, practice-oriented academic environment, the Digital Dragons: The CyberSecurity Challenge – DDC 2026, organized by the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, in collaboration with EVVO Labs (Singapore), under the professional patronage of the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA), has officially returned. Following a series of successful seasons since 2023, DDC 2026 continues to affirm its position as one of the most prestigious cybersecurity competitions in terms of scale and quality.

On August 23, 2026, the DDC 2026 Qualifying Round will officially commence, bringing together 161 outstanding teams representing 38 universities, academies, and research institutes across Viet Nam. The competition has attracted the participation of numerous leading technology education institutions, including the University of Information Technology – Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT), Thuyloi University (TLU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), FPT University, Can Tho University (CTU), Duy Tan University (DTU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUT), The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (DUT), VNU University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the Academy of Cryptography Techniques (KMA), the People’s Security Academy, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), and the host institution, VKU, with 10 highly determined teams.

Notably, marking a new stage of development on a Southeast Asian regional scale, DDC 2026 will, for the first time, welcome international teams from the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) and the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI). The participation of these young regional talents not only enhances opportunities for professional exchange and intensifies the competitiveness of the competition, but also realizes the goals of connectivity, academic exchange, and international integration that VKU and EVVO Labs have consistently pursued.

During the Qualifying Round, the “digital warriors” will compete through a series of in-depth, practice-oriented challenges requiring analytical ability, strategic thinking, and comprehensive problem-solving skills across areas including web application vulnerability exploitation, network vulnerabilities, cryptography, reverse engineering, and advanced information security techniques. The teams delivering the strongest performances in the Qualifying Round will officially secure their prestigious places in the Final Round, scheduled to take place on September 19-20, 2026, at the campus of the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang City.

DDC 2026 promises to serve as a solid launching pad for students to gain practical competitive experience, demonstrate their capabilities, sharpen their skills, and prepare to become a core cybersecurity workforce in the future.
