On the morning of 29/06/2026, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), The University of Danang held the Opening of the International Student Exchange Program – VKU-ISEP 2026 with the theme “Innovation & Intercultural Exchange Camp 2026” between VKU and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand. This is an annual activity organized based on the cooperation between VKU and KMUTNB to strengthen and expand international exchange cooperation, exchanging learning opportunities and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Thailand.

Overview of the opening ceremony

Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of KMUTNB, there were Ms. Maneerat Sukkkasem – Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration and Services; Ms. Sitarawee Nithinanthakul – Faculty of Business Administration; Ms. Tanatcha Kongsong – Faculty of Technology and Industrial Management; Ms. Wilaipan Boonmak – Faculty of Business Administration and Services; Mr. Apisit Luedara – International Cooperation Center; Mr. Jiratheep Suwannachim – International Cooperation Center. On the side of VKU, there were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the University, Leaders of Departments and Faculties, along with lecturers and more than 50 Vietnamese and Thai students participating in the program. Especially, this year’s program features the participation of 07 high school students, including 05 students from Hai Ba Trung High School (Hue City) and 02 students from Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Da Nang City). The presence of these students not only contributes to expanding the beneficiaries of internationalization activities but also creates opportunities for high school students to early access a multicultural learning environment, sparking creative thinking, foreign language capacity, and career orientation in the fields of digital technology and digital economy right from when they are still in school.

Speaking at the opening of the program, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the University warmly welcomed the delegation of lecturers and students from KMUTNB to participate in the “Innovation & Intercultural Exchange Camp 2026”. He emphasized that VKU-ISEP is not only an annual international exchange activity but also a vivid testament to the university’s educational internationalization strategy, creating conditions for students and high school students to study and experience in a multicultural environment, develop foreign language capacity, teamwork skills, global thinking, and the ability to adapt to the international environment.

As an internationally oriented public university in the field of digital technology and digital economy, VKU always takes learners as the center, focusing on comprehensive training in professional knowledge, occupational skills, and integration capacity. Over the past years, the University has established cooperation networks with many universities, enterprises, and international organizations, implementing a variety of student exchange programs, international semesters, scientific research, and innovative entrepreneurship. VKU expects VKU-ISEP 2026 to continue to become a bridge helping Vietnamese and Thai students learn together, innovate together, and develop together in an open, modern, and integrated educational environment.

On behalf of the KMUTNB delegation, Ms. Maneerat Sukkkasem – Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration and Services expressed gratitude for the respectful reception by VKU, and at the same time highly appreciated the cooperative results between the two universities since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023. Through exchange programs organized alternately in Vietnam and Thailand, students of both universities have had the opportunity to study in an international environment, expand cultural understanding, build cross-border friendships, and develop essential skills for their careers. The representative of KMUTNB also believed that the cooperative relationship between the two universities will continue to develop strongly, bringing many practical values to lecturers and learners in the coming time.

Within the framework of VKU-ISEP 2026, students from both universities participate together in a series of academic and innovative activities according to the PISI model, focusing on Design Thinking and building the Business Model Canvas in the fields of information technology, tourism, and digital transformation. Teams are formed on an interdisciplinary and transnational basis, creating an environment for students to discuss, program, develop ideas, present, and complete products under the guidance of VKU and KMUTNB lecturers. This is not only an opportunity to enhance professional capacity, soft skills, and the ability to work in an international environment but also contributes to forming innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit for learners.

In addition to academic activities, the international student delegation will visit Da Nang City, Hoi An Ancient Town, and Ba Na Hills; participate in cultural exchange activities, Vietnam – Thailand language exchanges, and a teambuilding program to learn about the culture and people of Vietnam, thereby strengthening cohesion, understanding, and cooperation between students of the two nations.

The International Student Exchange Program – VKU-ISEP 2026 “Innovation & Intercultural Exchange Camp 2026” takes place from 29/06 to 04/07/2026, continuing to affirm VKU’s efforts in building an international educational environment, connecting academics, spreading the spirit of innovation, and training high-quality human resources, ready to integrate and lead the future.
