Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of the university, delivered a speech
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho acknowledged and congratulated the students who had successfully passed the rigorous selection process conducted by the Thai partner to become members of the 2026 international internship delegation. He emphasized that this is a valuable opportunity for VKU students to access an international academic and working environment and urged them to uphold a sense of responsibility and discipline, especially in adhering to work schedules and regulations during the internship. In addition, students should proactively exchange ideas and collaborate on research with professors and experts at KMUTNB with the aim of producing scientific publications, thereby creating a solid foundation for higher-level studies and research in the future. VKU will also support the recognition of internship results and the transfer of corresponding credits for relevant courses in the training program.
According to the plan, the selection process for students participating in the program was implemented from January to May 2026 through evaluation rounds and direct interviews conducted by King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. This year’s internship group consists of eight students from cohorts K22, K23, and K24, including six students majoring in Information Technology and two students majoring in Artificial Intelligence. The internship program lasts for four months and is divided into two phases: an online internship from April 16 to June 15, 2026, and an on-site internship in Thailand from June 18 to August 18, 2026. Each student participating in the program will receive financial support of USD 468.5 from the Korean ODA Project to cover airfare, insurance, and visa expenses. Simultaneously, the Thai partner provides dormitory accommodation and a monthly internship allowance of 10,000 Baht for each student.
During the meeting, representatives of specialized departments and student affairs units disseminated important information regarding the learning, living, and internship process in Thailand. Students were guided on how to register for internship modules at VKU to ensure the recognition and transfer of academic results upon completion of the program. They also signed a Learning Agreement to obtain international student status at the partner university and fully benefit from all learning and research opportunities. In addition, they were equipped with essential knowledge of English communication skills, Thai cultural etiquette, respect for the Royal Family, left-hand traffic regulations, and issues related to safety, health, and the use of health insurance during their internship.
The international internship program at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok further affirms the effective cooperation between VKU and its international partners while also demonstrating the university’s strategy of promoting the internationalization of education. This is not only an opportunity for students to enhance their professional competence, foreign language proficiency, and work skills in a global environment, but also contributes to promoting the image of VKU students as dynamic, confident, and globally integrated individuals.
