Representing VKU at the event, Dr. Le Ha Nhu Thao – Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation – delivered a presentation at the workshop “Around the World in One Session: Universities & Networking,” a networking forum for international universities participating in iWeek 2026.

At the workshop, VKU introduced an overview of the University as a public member institution of The University of Danang, oriented toward becoming a leading applied university in digital technology and digital economy in Vietnam. VKU currently offers bilingual programs in English–Vietnamese, Japanese–Vietnamese, and Korean–Vietnamese. The University also possesses a modern and synchronized infrastructure system funded by the Governments of Vietnam and South Korea, with a total budget of over VND 1,000 billion. In addition, VKU has a high-quality academic staff trained in developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Australia.

Alongside educational activities, VKU places strong emphasis on international cooperation and has been implementing many large-scale projects under frameworks such as Erasmus+, the British Council, and others. These projects aim to support the development of the innovation and technology startup ecosystem, enhance information technology training capacity, improve students’ employability in digital environments, and increase the value of transnational education programs in Vietnam. In particular, VKU is implementing different phases of the ODA cooperation project between the Governments of Vietnam and South Korea to strengthen capacity in ICT education, research, and university governance; develop smart and modern education and research environments; and strongly promote university–industry collaboration and innovation.

At the same time, VKU is actively expanding student exchange, faculty exchange, and international academic cooperation activities with universities, organizations, and enterprises in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and many other countries. Every year, VKU students have the opportunity to participate in international exchange programs, overseas internships, cultural exchange activities, international semesters, and internship programs at foreign enterprises. In addition, many international lecturers and experts regularly visit VKU for teaching, research, and academic cooperation projects. These activities provide an important foundation for VKU students to improve foreign language proficiency, global competencies, and adaptability to international working environments, while further affirming the quality of the University’s education in the process of deep international integration.

Discussions with representatives from Asian and Eastern European countries

Through iWeek 2026, VKU aims to expand its network with international universities and organizations, promoting academic exchange, scientific research cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, as well as the development of future international training, internship, and research programs. The event also served as an opportunity to promote the image of VKU as a young, dynamic university that pioneers digital transformation and international integration to the global academic community.

Beyond professional activities, iWeek 2026 also created a multicultural environment for cultural exchange, contributing to greater mutual understanding, experience sharing, and global networking among higher education institutions. Through such activities, VKU continues to affirm its strong international integration orientation while gradually enhancing its position and reputation on the regional and global higher education landscape.
