VKU Strengthens International Cooperation, Expanding Student Exchange Opportunities with Pai Chai University (Korea)
On the morning of April 6, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pai Chai University (Korea) and TNS Group. The event marks a significant milestone in VKU’s internationalization strategy, opening up valuable opportunities for VKU students to study and gain practical experience in Korea through high-quality exchange programs.

Attending the program, representatives from Pai Chai University included Prof. Kim Wook – President; Assoc. Prof. Yoon Mi Yeon – Head of the Office of International Affairs; and Mr. Ryu Yong Choon – Deputy Head of the Office of International Affairs. From TNS Group were Mr. Tran Cong Lua – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tran Anh Hung – Member of the Board, and Mr. Nguyen Hao Kiet – Deputy Director and Director of TNS Korea. Representing VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector; Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho; along with leaders of various departments, faculties, and centers.

In his welcome speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Pai Chai University and TNS Group to VKU for their visit, working session, and discussions on cooperation. He noted that VKU, a public member university of The University of Danang, was established in 2020 through the consolidation of reputable IT training units. The University aims to become a leading digital university, providing high-quality human resources in key fields such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Design, and Financial Technology.
VKU currently has nearly 8,000 students and offers a modern learning environment with advanced training programs, including bilingual programs in English–Vietnamese, Japanese–Vietnamese, and Korean–Vietnamese. The University places strong emphasis on students’ global integration competencies. VKU has established partnerships with nearly 200 domestic and international partners, including universities and major enterprises from Korea, Japan, the United States, and Europe. VKU is also a pioneer in the Central and Central Highlands regions in semiconductor IC design engineering training and in developing research and innovation centers such as VKU Fintech Hub and VKU-SSTH. With internationalization identified as a key pillar in VKU’s development strategy, the cooperation with Pai Chai University and TNS Group not only expands international learning and exchange opportunities for students but also contributes to improving training quality in line with global education standards. VKU is committed to closely coordinating with its partners to effectively implement cooperation programs, ensuring practical and sustainable benefits for learners.

In his remarks, Prof. Kim Wook, President of Pai Chai University, expressed his strong impression of VKU’s dynamic growth and clear strategic direction in recent years. He highly appreciated VKU’s practice-oriented training model, its strong focus on technology, and its commitment to international integration, noting that these serve as a solid foundation for promoting effective bilateral cooperation programs. Pai Chai University, one of the oldest universities in Korea, was established in 1885 and is located in Daejeon – a leading science and technology hub of the country. Prof. Kim Wook emphasized that the university prioritizes building a modern, multicultural, and international student-friendly learning environment. With extensive experience in supporting international students, Pai Chai University is ready to provide the best possible conditions for VKU students to study, conduct research, and gain meaningful experiences.

The MoU focuses on jointly selecting, nominating, and supporting students to participate in exchange programs lasting from one to two semesters. A highlight of the agreement is the policy of a 100% tuition fee waiver for exchange students between the two universities. In addition, the parties agreed on mutual recognition of academic results and credit transfer equivalency, enabling students to complete their programs on schedule while gaining valuable international experience. This is not only an opportunity to improve language proficiency but also a chance for students to adapt to a global working environment.

Overview of the exchange session
Immediately after the signing ceremony, an engaging exchange session took place at Hall K with the participation of the Pai Chai University delegation, TNS Group, and more than 200 VKU students. Representatives from Pai Chai University introduced the modern learning environment in Daejeon and provided practical information on living conditions, the GKS scholarship, visa support, airport pick-up services, insurance, and dormitory facilities. Notably, the program also offers flexible support for students who do not yet have TOPIK certification through intensive Korean language courses in the first semester, demonstrating Pai Chai University’s strong commitment to accompanying VKU students throughout their academic journey.
The signing of this MoU not only expands VKU’s network of partners but also reaffirms its commitment to enhancing training quality in a practical and sustainable manner. In the coming time, both sides expect to further develop undergraduate and postgraduate articulation programs, contributing to strengthening VKU’s international position.
