On the afternoon of March 31, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang held an important working session with Hue City Department of Education and Training. The meeting focused on discussing strategic cooperation directions in training, digital transformation, and the development of high-quality human resources for the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Overview of the working session

Attending the meeting, on behalf of Hue City Department of Education and Training, were Mr. Nguyen Tan – Director of the Department, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc – Deputy Director, and leaders of professional divisions. Representing VKU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the university, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, along with heads of various university departments, faculties, and centers. The working session took place in an open, frank, and highly constructive atmosphere, clearly reflecting both parties’ determination to foster comprehensive and long-term cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan – Director of the Department, highly appreciated VKU’s reputation, training quality, and modern development orientation in recent years, particularly its pioneering role in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation. He emphasized that, in the context of the education sector’s push for comprehensive innovation, strengthening cooperation with technology-focused higher education institutions like VKU is essential. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning while preparing a workforce that meets the demands of development in the digital era.

Mr. Nguyen Tan also expressed his desire for VKU to closely accompany Hue City’s education sector in implementing digital transformation programs, supporting the training and professional development of teachers, and coordinating career orientation activities for high school students. In particular, creating opportunities for students to gain early exposure to spearhead technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, semiconductor chip design, and the digital economy will contribute to proper career guidance and improve the quality of the future workforce.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU, delivered a speech

Speaking on behalf of VKU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, provided an overview of the development orientation following the digital university model. This model focuses on training in spearhead fields such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, IC Design, Digital Economy, and E-commerce. With a training ecosystem closely linked to enterprises, VKU not only emphasizes professional knowledge but also promotes the development of practical skills, innovative thinking, and international integration capabilities for its students. Notably, in 2025, VKU took a proactive and pioneering role in collaborating with the Departments of Education and Training in Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. This initiative promoted the application of AI and digital transformation in education through orientation activities, training, and the development of a smart education ecosystem. These achievements have affirmed VKU’s leadership in the digital transformation of education within the Central and Central Highlands regions, while creating a solid foundation for further expanding cooperation with the Hue City Department of Education and Training in the near future.

During the meeting, both sides reached a consensus on several key cooperation directions. These focus on implementing career counseling for high school students, promoting digital transformation in education, and strengthening the connection between the university, general education institutions, and enterprises. Furthermore, the two sides aimed to coordinate the organization of practical experience programs, STEAM activities, and university campus tours. These initiatives will allow students to access modern technology and shape their career paths early on. Simultaneously, they plan to deploy training programs to enhance the capacity of teaching staff, particularly in the fields of technology and digital transformation, contributing to the requirements of educational innovation in the current period.

The working session was not only an opportunity for both sides to exchange experiences but also opened up numerous new cooperation opportunities, contributing to the development of a modern, flexible, and practice-linked educational ecosystem. Building upon the successful cooperation results achieved within the region and continuing to expand linkages, VKU affirms its commitment to accompanying the Hue City Department of Education and Training in enhancing training quality, promoting digital transformation, and developing high-quality human resources. This collaborative effort aims to meet the socio-economic development demands of the Central and Central Highlands regions in the new era.
