VKU successfully hosted the Central Region semi-final round of the Vietnam Electronic Design Competition 2025

In the vibrant atmosphere of the science and technology research community across the country, on the morning of November 23, 2025, the semi-final round of the Vietnam Electronic Design Competition 2025 officially took place simultaneously in the three regions of North – Central – South. In the Central region, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Danang University was honored to be the host of this important event.

Attending the Central Region semi-final round were Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the university and Head of the jury, along with jury members from various universities and enterprises, the members of 8 outstanding teams in the region and students who came to support the event.

Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the university delivered the opening speech for the Central region semi-final round.

In his opening speech of the Central region semi-final round, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the university expressed his delight that VKU was entrusted as the host venue. He affirmed that VKU is committed to accompanying leading intellectual playgrounds and creating the best conditions for students to maximize their creativity. Hosting this semi-final round is a testament to the university’s strong investment in facilities and its right orientation in promoting scientific research, integrating training with practical application, contributing to nurturing young technological talents for the region and the whole country.

The jury members are distinguished experts and lecturers in the field of electronic engineering.

The competition is a prestigious annual playground organized by the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association, with the support of key state management agencies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the National Innovation Center (NIC).

Overcoming the challenging preliminary round which featured more than 140 teams from training institutions nationwide, the 27 best teams advanced to the semi-finals. In particular, at VKU, the competition atmosphere was extremely thrilling with the participation of 8 outstanding teams from the Central region. Notably, it is a point of pride that the host, VKU, is represented by two excellent teams: Handymen_VKU and EDL_AIoT. The presence of the two teams not only highlights the quality of VKU’s specialized training but also showcases the creativity and boldness of its students in major technology competitions. This event provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their research skills, design thinking and ability to apply technology to solve real-world problems.

Thanks to VKU’s modern facilities, the teams were provided with the best possible conditions to demonstrate their products. The teams took turns progressing through the competition rounds: presenting their ideas, explaining the operating principles, demonstrating product models and answering questions from the jury, who are prestigious experts and lecturers in the field of electronic engineering.

At the end of the semi-final round, the organizing committee will select the 10 best teams nationwide to advance to the final round, scheduled to take place in December 2025. The event is not only an academic competition but also an important platform for transforming promising ideas into startup products, while providing valuable opportunities for VKU students and those from the Central region to engage with leading technology experts and enterprises.
