In his remarks, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU warmly welcomed the ISE leadership delegation and emphasized the significance of their visit in fostering future cooperation. The meeting highlighted that VKU, a public university under the University of Danang, is strongly oriented toward internationalization and dedicated to training high‑quality human resources in digital technology. VKU currently offers training in multiple disciplines, notably Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, and Fintech, with a particular highlight being Semiconductor Design Engineering – a pioneering field in which VKU became the first to announce enrollment in 2023. In 2024, VKU welcomed its first generation of 72 students, admitted with an entrance score of 27 points, ranking among the top nationwide. This reflects VKU’s strong appeal and high training quality, especially as global attention toward the semiconductor industry continues to intensify.
During the meeting, both parties reached an agreement to co‑host the First International Conference on Semiconductors (ICoS 2026), which will be held at Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) from January 5 to 7, 2026. The event is set to be a large‑scale international scientific gathering, uniting top experts, researchers, and enterprises in semiconductors, and strengthening ties between Vietnam and developed countries in both academia and industry.
Immediately after the meeting, the Korean professors’ delegation toured the campus facilities and inspected the proposed venues for the conference. The delegation highly appreciated VKU’s modern and well‑planned investments, expressing strong confidence in the university’s ability to organize international events with professionalism and efficiency.
The visit and working session with ISE reaffirm VKU’s role, prestige, and international outreach in high‑tech education and research, while underscoring its strategic vision to actively integrate into the global semiconductor ecosystem. As the host of the ICoS 2026 Conference, VKU reaffirms its commitment to joining hands with the Government, Da Nang City, and international partners in building and developing high‑quality human resources for this key industry of the future.
