VKU Collaborates with Sun World Ba Na Hills to Enhance Training and Internship Opportunities for Students in the Field of Digital Economy

On the afternoon of April 17, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, held a meeting to discuss and orient cooperation with Sun World Ba Na Hills, a member company of Sun Group – a leading brand in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment in Vietnam.

Overview of the meeting

From Sun World Ba Na Hills, Mr. Đoan Quoc Viet attended the meeting – Deputy Director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh – Human Resources Director, and Ms. Tran Thi Hanh – Head of Human Resources Department. From VKU, there were Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, along with leaders of departments, faculties, and centers under the university.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University – warmly welcomed the representatives of Sun World Ba Na Hills for their visit, working session, and cooperation discussion. He shared that VKU was established in 2020, with an annual enrollment target of 1,500 students. The average entrance score is 24 points across 19 majors and minors in the fields of Information Technology, Communications, and Digital Economy. Currently, VKU has nearly 7,000 students and aims to reach 8,000 to 9,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students by 2025. The university’s academic staff consists of over 250 members, including nearly 70 PhDs and Associate Professors, accounting for approximately 41% of the faculty. In addition, VKU places great emphasis on building a network of over 200 strategic partners, including domestic and international organizations and enterprises, to support training, recruitment, and funding activities. The university has implemented various cooperative training programs such as bilingual English-Vietnamese, Japanese-Vietnamese, and Korean-Vietnamese global programs. It also organizes numerous academic and cultural exchange activities, real-world projects, internships, industry collaborations, and promotes teaching in foreign languages—particularly, 100% of student theses are written and presented in English.

With a development orientation toward becoming a digital university closely connected with businesses, VKU places special emphasis on expanding cooperation with reputable organizations to enhance students’ professional skills, practical experience, and global integration. The collaboration with Sun World Ba Na Hills – a prestigious brand in the tourism, entertainment, and service industry under Sun Group – not only creates high-quality internship and job opportunities for students but also serves as a foundation for the university to continue adjusting its training programs to better align with market demands. We especially hope that both sides will jointly build sustainable and effective cooperation programs, contributing to the development of a digital economy workforce equipped with creative thinking, technological skills, and international integration capabilities, in line with the needs of modern service enterprises such as Sun World Ba Na Hills.

At the meeting, VKU and Sun World Ba Na Hills reached an agreement on various potential areas of cooperation, with a focus on connecting training, internships, and student recruitment in digital economy-related majors such as Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, and Digital Tourism and Travel Services Management. Both sides shared a common vision for developing a young workforce with a strong foundation in technology, creative thinking, digital skills, and foreign language proficiency. In the near future, several collaborative programs will be implemented, including semester-long internships at enterprises, co-training programs with businesses, guest lectures by industry experts, as well as career orientation activities and real-world professional exchange events. This collaboration is expected to help VKU students access a professional working environment and meet the practical demands of modern enterprises.

The working session opened up many practical cooperation opportunities, contributing to building an effective bridge between the university and the business sector.
