VKU: A leadership delegation participated in a short-term training program in South Korea aimed at enhancing leadership and university management capabilities
Under the auspices of an ODA project sponsored by KOICA, the delegation from Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, led by Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector, along with 20 heads and deputy heads from various offices, faculties, and centers of the university, attended a training program at Kyung Hee University (KHU), South Korea from July 21-28, 2024.

During the program, the delegation participated in seminars on topics such as university management and decision-making, university financial management, document management systems, human resources management, administrative and infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship center roles, faculty training management, university-enterprise collaboration, etc. These sessions were facilitated by experienced professors and leaders from functional units at KHU.

Additionally, VKU’s delegation had an opportunity to explore and experience the multimedia laboratory system featuring cutting-edge Metaverse technologies, virtual drone control devices, and visited the central library and business shops offering products resulting from KHU’s research and entrepreneurship activities, such as high-quality Korean ginseng products, functional foods, and traditional medicinal herbs. They also visited student service spaces and the School of Art and Fusion Design campus.

Through practical experiences, exchanges, and discussions, the delegation gained valuable insights to contribute towards enhancing VKU’s university management and educational capabilities in the upcoming years, thereby supporting the successful implementation of the Enhancing Education – Training, Management, and Research Capacity Project in the period of 2022-2027, worth USD 7.7 million from the non-refundable ODA funding of the South Korean government through KOICA.

Established in 1949, Kyung Hee University in South Korea adheres to the founding philosophy of “Creating a New Civilization” and the mission of “Designing a future-oriented, innovative, and unique university leading in the era of transformation.” It has made significant contributions to both Korean and global education.
