VKU cooperates with NiX Education and Withus Company, Japan to strengthen Japanese language training for students majoring in Information Technology
On the afternoon of September 12, 2023, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang welcomed and worked with businesses from Japan to enhance the cooperation in Japanese language training for students majoring in Information Technology.
Overview of the meeting between the two units
Attending the working session, there were representatives of leaders of units including Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – General Director of Nix Education Joint Stock Company (NiX Education); Mr. Ikoma Tomio – General Director, Mr. Suzuki Takayuki – CEO of Withus Company, Japan. On the VKU side, there was Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, and Leaders of Departments, Faculties, and Centers of the university.

Chairing the meeting, Dr. Tran The Son was pleased to welcome leaders of businesses who visited and cooperated with VKU. Appreciating the importance of cooperation as well as receiving support from businesses, VKU always focuses on opportunities and creates the most favorable conditions for businesses to connect, to have appropriate solutions and to coordinate with the university in order to upgrade the training level which gives access to advanced education systems in the world and equip students with more knowledge. Typically, there has been the success of the Information Technology Engineering class – with intensive Japanese language (with 33 students – course 1). This class type is being deployed for course 2 with 37 students selected by Nix Education. Students participating in the intensive Japanese language program will be taught their specialty and Japanese language by Japanese lecturers to achieve N3-N2 level and to develop soft skills, to approach new knowledge and technology. Moreover, they could be selected by Japanese businesses during the learning process with valuable incentives and scholarships from the businesses.
As for NiX Education, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the first Japanese language intensive Information Technology Engineering course was very successful with 4 students selected by Japanese businesses after 6 months (02 students received the scholarship of 1-week internship in Japan, 11 students were recruited part-time (with salary), most students can communicate in Japanese with native speakers, and have the ability to research on their own. From those results, NiX Education hopes VKU will continue to expand the cooperation with many Japanese businesses and to receive more Japanese lecturers for its training and to exchange opportunities for studying abroad.
Mr. Tomio Ikoma – General Director of Withus introduced the company and expressed the readiness to cooperate with VKU in the future
The representative of Withus Company, Mr. Tomio Ikoma – General Director said that Withus was established in 1967 and has been operating in the field of education for more than 48 years with online training. Currently, Withus has 250 universities everywhere, training many levels with more than 30,000 learners. Withus has 5 institutions specializing in Japanese language. After discussion, Withus hopes to cooperate with VKU and NiX Education to enhance Japanese language training for students majoring in information technology, which promotes the high-quality human resources in this potential field.
At the end of the meeting, the University’s leaders welcomed and supported proposals in developing and replicating the coordinated training model of Information Technology Engineering classes taught by intensive Japanese language at VKU and continuing to sign a cooperation agreement between the three parties. With the support of businesses and the proper conditions, VKU believes that this training model will be a positive and effective one creating high-quality human resources to meet the demands of the society and the requirements of domestic and international businesses.
