VKU signs MoU with Hanwha Life and ChildFund Korea to seek, nurture, and cultivate talent in Information Technology (ICT) and Financial Technology (Fintech) in Vietnam

Recently, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Hanwha Life Group and ChildFund Korea (CFK) to seek, nurture, and cultivate talent in the fields of Information Technology (ICT) and Financial Technology (Fintech) in Vietnam.

Overview of the Signing Ceremony

Attending the signing ceremony, representatives from Hanwha Life included Mr. Hong Jeong Pyo – Senior Executive Vice President, and Mr. Hwang Jun Hwan – Chairman of the Board and CEO of Hanwha Life Vietnam; from CFK, there was Mrs. Shin Joung Won – Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives. From VKU, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – President of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Tran The Son, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Presidents and other leaders from various departments and over 200 VKU students.

Opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – President of the University

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap expressed his joy and excitement about the collaboration between VKU, Hanwha Life, and ChildFund Korea. This is an important milestone marking the development of a sincere, sustainable, and strategic partnership.

Though that day is the official signing ceremony, the three entities have already engaged in several effective collaborative activities that have brought remarkable and meaningful results, providing both material and spiritual value to VKU faculty and students, as well as to society. Among these initiatives, they have implemented various programs to support and nurture talent in ICT and Fintech, such as:

  • Collaborating with the Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad, a platform where thousands of talented students from across the country compete, experience specialized training environments, and reach intellectual heights.
  • The Campus Tour program, which helps guide the career orientation of thousands of high school students, offering them the opportunity to experience modern university environments.
  • Establishing a Fintech Hub and hosting seminars on strategies for training and developing high-quality human resources in Fintech.
  • Short-term training courses and scholarships for VKU students, providing them with opportunities to experience international environments, visit the headquarters of Hanwha Life, and learn from leading experts. These programs not only provide knowledge but also motivate students to confidently pursue their academic and career development.
  • Offering several valuable scholarships for students to participate in academic exchanges and international cultural exchanges in regional countries.

The support from Hanwha Life and CFK is immensely significant for Vietnamese students, particularly VKU students. These contributions reflect not only material value but also the humanitarian spirit, dedication, and commitment of Hanwha Life and ChildFund Korea to human development, especially for the younger generation.

Speech by Mr. Hong Jeong Pyo – Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life

Mr. Hong Jeong Pyo, representing Hanwha Life, reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to accompanying the young generation of Vietnam, not only as a business but also with a deep social responsibility, aiming to help realize dreams and cultivate talent in the fields of Finance and ICT. Since 2024, Hanwha Life, VKU, and CFK have launched a CSR program to train talent and are now expanding with the Future Plus Vietnam project, supporting Fintech students at VKU and identifying and nurturing young talents in the fields of finance and technology. He shared emotional moments when witnessing students shine in the Informatics Olympiad and VKU students demonstrating their aspirations during a visit to South Korea, where they carry ambitions to become global financial leaders. These experiences have affirmed that Hanwha Life’s CSR activities are not just simple support, but can truly change someone’s life. Hanwha Life is committed to continuing to offer scholarships, support research, teaching, organize international seminars, and conduct in-depth training programs, contributing to the creation of a sustainable financial ecosystem. He emphasized: “The dreams of Vietnam’s young generation are our future, and on the journey to make these dreams a reality, Hanwha Life will always be by your side.”

Speech by Mrs. Shin Joung Won – Director of Director of Corporate Social Impact Initiative of ChildFund Korea

Mrs. Shin Joung Won, representing ChildFund Korea, expressed her honor in continuing CFK’s collaboration with VKU and Hanwha Life in the second year of the project to develop talent in the fields of finance and information technology in Vietnam, now called “Hanwha Life Future Plus Vietnam 2025.” CFK is committed to expanding the program’s scale, enhancing its quality, and hopes that VKU students will contribute positively to the development of Vietnam’s financial sector and become key workforce members in the future.

Signing Ceremony of the cooperation agreement between VKU, Hanwha Life, and ChildFund Korea

Following discussions, representatives from the three entities signed a cooperation agreement for organizing the Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad and related activities, as well as supporting and developing Fintech education at VKU.

The cooperation between VKU, Hanwha Life, and CFK is not only reflected in the signing of agreements but also in the meaningful actions, commitments, and close interactions aimed at truly bringing value and significance to VKU students specifically, and to Vietnamese students in general. VKU hopes that, with confidence and determination, each step of this cooperation will bring benefits and deep meaning to the community.
