VKU signs Memorandum of Understanding with EVVO Labs, Singapore to strengthen training and in-depth research on Cyber Security
On the morning of April 20, 2023, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang held a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EVVO Labs, Singapore to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the fields of training and in-depth research of Cyber security, internship and human resource recruitment.

Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of EVVO Labs, Singapore was represented by Mr. Wong Yee Leong – CEO, Mr. Chew Teck Shiong – COO; on the side of VKU, there was Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Binh – University Council Chairman with the subordinate units’ leaders of the two units.

At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap is pleased to welcome the EVVO Labs’ Board of Directors and members in this return to work, more specifically, to carry out the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that the two sides have cherished and built in the past. The Memorandum of Understanding marked an important development milestone, supporting each other comprehensively on the basis of linking resources and strengths of each side.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chew Teck Shiong expressed his joy and considered this as a milestone in the development strategy of international cooperation with universities in Asia in general and Vietnam in particular, with the project to expand the presence in Vietnam as well as invest in adjacent human resources. The cooperation between VKU and Evvo Labs will open up new opportunities for both sides to make proper and long-term investments in training, early development of young talents, and transmission of knowledge and experience in the development of electronics and digital.
Leaders of the two units have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which reinforces the goal of focusing on the following specific contents:
1. Recruiting talented students preparing to graduate to train skill sets to work in an international environment, thereby conducting an internship and career development program in Singapore. The program run by EVVO Labs, aims to develop and deliver a young, talented, high-quality and aspiring workforce that can grow into the future leaders of the industry. At the end of work in Singapore, this talented workforce will return to contribute to Vietnams ecosystem. This is a win-win proposition for both economies.
2. EVVO Labs and VKU will co-organize the Cyber-Security Hackathon in the appropriate framework/scope, expected in the Central and Central Highlands and expanding nationwide.
3. EVVO Labs and VKU will co-host a series of workshops on topics: Practical Cyber Security and Confident communication – Specialized English for IT Engineers.
4. Co-host a short course in the direction of commercialization – cost and revenue sharing method (VKU organizes enrollment & EVVO Labs provides a team of training experts and program content). Short-term training/coaching courses include:
a) Confident communication – Specialized English for IT Engineers.
b) Practical cyber security through commercial projects where EVVO Labs is providing services on the international market.
5. Cooperate in R&D to co-develop scientific research papers and patents recognized by intellectual property organizations around the world.
6. EVVO Labs cooperates with VKU on Cyber security Research and Development labs (e.g. on cloud security, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing). From research work within the framework of practical projects, aiming at commercialization, generating revenue for both parties, according to the principle of mutual benefit.
Representatives of the leaders had further exchanges of ideas, discussed cooperation activities in the near future, the parties will regularly have meetings to promote the signed terms soon into practice, and expand the development of cooperation programs in areas of mutual interest. Hopefully, in the future, this cooperation will create many good opportunities and benefits, opening up a sustainable development future for both sides.
