In response to the national movement “All people train their bodies following the great Uncle Ho’s example” and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), as well as to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 7th Party Congress of the University of Danang (UD), term 2025–2030, and the 7th Sports Festival for Officials and Employees of UD – 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Sports Festival for Officials and Employees – 2025 with the theme: VKU – Aspiration to Reach Further on the afternoon of April 16, 2025.

Nearly 200 athletes will compete in 8 sports across 10 event categories

Attending the Opening Ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector; MA. Tran Dinh Son – Chairman of the University Trade Union, along with members of the University Trade Union Executive Committee, leaders of departments, and more than 200 athletes, staff, lecturers, and employees of the university.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Dinh Son emphasized that the 2nd Sports Festival for Officials and Employees – 2025 is not only an opportunity for improving health and physical fitness but also a playground that fosters connection, promotes unity, enthusiasm, and the collective aspiration to reach further of VKU. This event carries a special meaning as it takes place amid the celebration of major national events and preparations for the Party Congresses, reflecting the sense of responsibility, confidence, and spirit of innovation of the university’s officials and employees. With nearly 200 participants competing in 10 event categories, the Festival serves as a platform to spread positive energy, provide motivation, and together build a professional and culturally rich working environment – healthy to contribute and to affirm VKU’s position as a university full of aspiration to go further.

Leaders presented flowers and commemorative flags to participating teams

The Sports Festival will take place from April 16 to April 26, 2025, with nearly 200 athletes competing in 4 sports and 10 event categories, including: Football (Men’s 5-a-side), Badminton (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles), Table Tennis (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles), Pickleball (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles)

Right after the opening ceremony, the preliminary rounds of badminton took place with intense, thrilling matches that attracted a large audience to watch and cheer. The closing ceremony and award presentation will be held on the afternoon of April 26, 2025.

The 2nd Sports Festival for Officials and Employees – 2025 not only continues the tradition of physical training and internal competition across the university but also fosters unity, self-improvement, and collective effort towards a healthy, united, and ambitious institution. The exciting competitions, enthusiastic cheering, and fair-play spirit of the athletes are vivid proof of the strong vitality and unique identity of VKU – a university that is gradually asserting its position and reaching further in its journey of sustainable development.
