Nearly 1,500 students from Quang Ngai province are eagerly participating in the 2024 University Enrollment and Career Counseling Program organized by VKU
Nearly 1,500 students along with teachers from various high schools including Tu Nghia High School No.1, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Le Trung Dinh High School, Mo Duc High School No. 2, Chu Van An High School, and Thu Xa High School are participating in the 2024 University Enrollment and Career Counseling Program organized by VKU. The program is meticulously and professionally organized, providing accurate and comprehensive information about the admissions process of Da Nang University in general and VKU in particular.
On the morning of April 21, 2024, at Tu Nghia High School No.1, Quang Ngai, the 2024 University Enrollment Counseling Program took place, hosted by Vietnam Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) – Danang University (UD), in coordination with the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai Province and Tu Nghia High School No.1. This is one of the activities aimed at implementing the cooperation plan between UD and the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, as well as the cooperation plan between UD and the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai Province on training and developing high-quality human resources for Quang Ngai province. The 2024 University Enrollment and Career Counseling Program aims to advise, introduce, and guide students from high schools in Quang Ngai province (Tu Nghia District and Mo Duc District) on their study majors.
Overview of the 2024 University Enrollment and Career Counseling Program
Present at the program were Mr. Nguyen Van Tam – Deputy Director of the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai Province, Assoc. Prof. PhD. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU, PhD. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU; Representatives from the Board of Directors of universities and institutions under Danang University; Representatives of the Board of Directors of Tu Nghia High School No.1, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Le Trung Dinh High School, Mo Duc High School No. 2, Chu Van An High School, and Thu Xa High School, along with teachers and over 1000 students parents from participating schools.

In his speech at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam – Deputy Director of the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai Province, appreciated VKU’s dedication in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai Province, Tu Nghia High School, to organize this Enrollment Counseling Program in Quang Ngai. Mr. Tam noted: “The 2024 High School Graduation Exam is the final exam of the current education program. Starting from 2025, there will be significant changes in content and format according to the new education program (2028). Therefore, many 12th-grade students and parents are understandably anxious because if they do not succeed in the university entrance exam in 2024, they will face even more challenges in the 2025 admissions season.

Representing the hosting institution, Mr. Pham Xuan Tam – Principal of Tu Nghia High School No.1, expressed profound gratitude to VKU for bringing the University Enrollment Counseling Program to Quang Ngai. He emphasized that this is a great opportunity for students to listen, share, and carefully explore various universities and fields of study they are interested in. Through this program, students can clearly and accurately determine the path to realizing their dreams.

On behalf of the organizing committee, PhD. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU, expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Department of Education and Training and Tu Nghia High School for their active participation and effective cooperation in implementing the 2024 University Enrollment Counseling Program in Quang Ngai Province. He hoped that through the program, with the guidance of lecturers from VKU and other member schools under Danang University, students from high schools in Quang Ngai Province would gain a clear understanding of admissions information and be guided in choosing a career path that aligns with their abilities and interests, as well as considering financial circumstances, living conditions, academic studies at universities, and future job demands.

In 2024, the UD plans to enroll a total of about 16000 students for 146 graduate majors and training programmers, more than 2000 postgraduates for 45 training majors of master’s courses and nearly 500 recruits for 31 majors for doctoral degrees.
This year, VKU plans to enroll 1,500 students across three fields: Computer Science and Information Technology (960 slots), Business and Management (460 slots), and Journalism and Communication (80 slots). The admission process includes five methods: Direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam, admission based on high school academic performance (evaluated through transcripts), admission based on the competency assessment test scores of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, and direct admission according to the VKU’s enrollment plan. VKU offers 4 new training programs including Communication Technology, Information Security, Marketing and Semiconductor IC Design, alongside 12 existing programs such as Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Digital Art Design, Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Logistics Management and Digital Supply Chain, Digital Tourism and Travel Service Management, Digital Financial Management, Information Technology Project Management. These are highly sought-after fields with significant demand for high-quality human resources from both domestic and international markets.
VKU continues to maintain a stable tuition fee policy, with anticipated average fees ranging from 6-8 million Vietnamese dong per semester. The university also keeps consistent criteria for direct admissions as per its regulations, similar to those in 2023. Additionally, VKU has adjusted and introduced several new support policies, offering financial assistance ranging from 50% to 100% of tuition fees for the first semester or for the entire course duration, across all admission methods. This aims to accompany and support candidates with high admission results in enrolling in VKU.

Besides student support policies, VKU also offers various significant scholarships. These include scholarships for valedictorians (ranging from 39-45 million dong), salutatorians (ranging from 19.5-30 million dong), Top 10 students (ranging from 13-15 million dong), and numerous scholarships for students achieving high performance during the admission process, as well as for students from financially challenged backgrounds (2 million dong per scholarship). These efforts aim to encourage and motivate candidates who achieve high academic performance to enroll in the university.

VKU awarded 7 scholarships for students facing difficulties (valued at 5 million dong each) and 7 scholarships for students admitted in 2024 (covering 50% of tuition fees for the first 2 semesters, equivalent to 8 million dong each) to 7 high schools: Tu Nghia High School No.1, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Le Trung Dinh High School, Mo Duc High School No. 2, Chu Van An High School and Thu Xa High School.
Experience in Robocar friendly competition
Following the university enrollment counseling session, high school students also had the opportunity to participate in a friendly Robocar competition. Eight teams from Tu Nghia High School No.1, Mo Duc High School No. 2, Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Le Trung Dinh High School, and Thu Xa High School competed in three rounds. At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize, and 5 encouragement prizes to the participating teams.
