VKU works with a Cambridge English Authorized Testing Center and Victoria International Academy Company (Australia) to enhance cooperation in training and assessing foreign language proficiency for students
On the afternoon of April 22, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Danang University had a working session with a Cambridge English Authorized Testing Center and Victoria International Academy Joint Stock Company (Australia) to discuss cooperation opportunities in training and assessing English proficiency for its students.

Attending the section were Ms. Vo Thi Nhu Ha – General Director, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan – Executive Director, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet – Marketing Director, on behalf of the Cambridge English Authorized Testing Center; Mr. Pham Ngoc Hoang Khoi – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyen Le Bach – Director of Admissions of the University Office in Da Nang, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Thao Uyen – Marketing Director and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang – In charge of admissions for the online training system, representatives from Victoria International Academy Joint Stock Company (Australia); Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, and leaders of related units, on behalf of VKU.

At the meeting, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU gave an overview of the university’s operating model and development strategy. Thereby, he shared that VKU was established in 2020 with an annual enrollment scale of 1,500 students for 19 majors/specializations in the fields of information technology, communications, and digital economy. VKU currently has nearly 7,000 students and this figure is aimed to have reached from 8,000 to 9,000 by 2025. With a staff of nearly 300 lecturers, including nearly 70 PhDs and associate professors (accounting for nearly 41%), VKU is constantly promoting its training quality and international cooperation. The university itself has established cooperative relationships with more than 200 domestic and international strategic partners who accompany it in the process of training, recruitment, research, internship, and implementation of practical projects.
In particular, VKU is focusing on “hot” majors suitable for the trend such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Semiconductor Design, Financial Technology (Fintech), Logistics and other core technology majors, along with a comprehensive internationalization orientation. VKU has been implementing many bilingual training programs such as English – Vietnamese, Japanese – Vietnamese, Korean – Vietnamese, English-enhanced education of specialized subjects, organized international academic – cultural exchange activities. Noticeably, 100% of VKU’s students complete their graduation thesis entirely in English. With this strategy, VKU aims to train high-quality digital human resources who have the capacity for global integration and meet the requirements of digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Representing Victoria Company, Mr. Pham Ngoc Hoang Khoi – Chairman of the Board of Directors expressed his gratitude to VKU for its warm welcome and voiced his impression of the modern vision and international training orientation of the university. Thereby, his company hopes to accompany VKU in developing an English training program in accordance with international standards so as to help students enhance their integration capacity, obtain international certificates, and confidently conquer career opportunities in the global market.
Also at the meeting, the parties discussed a number of potential cooperation plans, one of which is the coordination and support from the Cambridge English Authorized Testing Center and Victoria Company in the organization of free English proficiency tests in accordance with the Cambridge international standards for students of the university. It is expected that the results of this test will make students able to accurately estimate their foreign language proficiency so that they will have a suitable learning path to meet the foreign language output standards of the training program.
The meeting is an important first step, demonstrating VKU’s determination to expand international cooperation and improve foreign language proficiency for its students – one of the pivotal factors in the strategy of developing high-quality digital human resources who are capable of working in a global environment.
