VKU – Veron Group: A Shared Vision to expand opportunities for students in the high-tech industry
On the morning of July 7, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Danang was honored to welcome a delegation from Veron Group – a technology corporation headquartered in the United States, specializing in training, research and development (R&D) in the fields of AI, semiconductors and embedded systems. The visit aimed to explore collaboration opportunities between the university and the business, contributing to the enhancement of VKU’s training quality and students’ global integration capacity.
Overview of the working session
Attending the working session, on the Veron Group side, were Dr. Peter Hoa Nguyen – CEO and Founder, Ms. Khanh Linh Tran – Vice President of Business Development & Communications, Dr. Thinh Duong – Vice President of AI, Dr. Vinh Nguyen – Director of Semiconductor Training, along with Ms. Mai Nguyen and Mr. Hung Le from the Danang Office. On the side of VKU, there was Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, along with representatives from various departments, faculties, and centers.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University extended a warm welcome to the Veron Group delegation, led by CEO and Founder Dr. Peter Hoa Nguyen, on their visit and working session with the university. This visit marks an important opportunity for both sides to strengthen cooperation and foster closer ties between the university and the business, particularly in training and research in digital technology – with a focus on high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and embedded systems.
VKU is a leading public university in the Central – Central Highlands region and the whole country, specializing in in-depth training and research on digital technology and digital economy. With a student population of nearly 7,000 specializing in digital technology and digital economy, VKU has a faculty of around 300 lecturers, including 70 associate professors and PhDs – all of whom hold master’s degrees or higher, with international training backgrounds from leading countries such as Korea, Japan, the United States, Australia, France, Poland, and others. VKU is oriented toward becoming a leading institution for training, research, and technology transfer, offering 19 majors and specializations in information technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, software engineering, information security, financial technology (fintech), semiconductor design, and IoT. At present, VKU is delivering training in 19 key majors and specializations such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Software Engineering, Information Security, Financial Technology (Fintech), IC Design and Internet of Things (IoT) while proactively expanding enterprise partnerships to enhance practical training and foster students’ capacity for innovation and global integration.

Representing Veron Group, Dr. Peter Hoa Nguyen expressed his sincere appreciation for VKU’s warm and thoughtful welcome. Dr. Peter highlighted Veron’s mission to bridge the gap between education, research, and enterprise in the high-tech field. Currently, Veron Group is headquartered in the United States, with representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The Group is implementing a range of training, research and transfer activities in the fields of semiconductor design, embedded systems, AI, IoT and smart healthcare. The Group is also proactively fostering partnerships with reputable universities and research institutions throughout Vietnam.
Within the framework of the working session, the two sides discussed and reached agreement on several key areas of cooperation, grounded in their shared development orientations – with a mutual focus on practical training, applied research, and strong industry connections. Notably, VKU’s internship program for 3rd and 4th year students follows a study-and-work model in collaboration with enterprises, enabling students to gain early exposure to real-world technology environment and enhance their professional competencies. The two sides also agreed to strengthen connections with partner enterprises through Tsinghua University (Taiwan); collaborate to organize academic competitions such as “Danang AI for Life” and jointly organize workshops, seminars, activities to share career orientation, working skills and innovation for students. In addition, the two partners will jointly develop a plan to implement a training program involving direct business participation, blending theory with practice to build students’ global skills and adaptability in today’s fast-changing tech context.
The meeting took place in an open, friendly and hopeful atmosphere. The presence and cooperation of Veron Group marks a significant step forward in VKU’s efforts to expand its international partnership network. VKU is committed to accompanying businesses in improving the quality of training, research and innovation, towards the common goal of building high-qualified digital technology human resources to serve the country’s socio-economic development.
