In accordance with Plan No. 1483-KH/ĐU dated December 12, 2023, from the Party Committee of the University of Danang (UD), and Notification No. 441-TB/ĐU from the Party Committee of the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU). On the morning of January 2, 2024, VKU Party Committee held a conference on study, learning, comprehension, dissemination, and implementation of the resolution from the 8th session of the 13th Party Central Committee and summary of Party building work in 2023 with task deployment for 2024.

Overview of the Conference

Attending the conference, from the Party Committee of the University of Danang (UD), was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the UD Council, and Mr. Pham Ngoc Mai Lan, Deputy Chief of the Party Committee Office. From VKU, there was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, along with members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Party, affiliated sub-committees, Executive Committee of the Trade Union, Youth Union, and over 100 Party members from the university’s Party Committee.

Opening speech by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh

In his opening speech, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh highlighted the importance of Party building at VKU. In 2024, despite facing many challenges and difficulties, the university maintained stability and development under the leadership and guidance of the Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the Director Board of the University of Danang (UD), the collaboration of UD’s member units, the tradition of solidarity, and the dedication of all Party members, staff, and students of the university. Over the past year, the Party Committee provided comprehensive leadership, enabling the university to fulfill its assigned tasks flexibly and effectively, consistently demonstrating its role as a political nucleus of leadership. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh outlined several outstanding achievements by the university in 2024, including: Successfully achieving 100% of enrollment targets, with entrance scores ranking among the top in the Central – Central Highlands and nationwide, increasing the total student population to nearly 7,000; accelerating the implementation of ODA project and international cooperation projects, such as establishing the Semiconductor and Smart Technology Hub (VKU-SSTH), VKU Fintech Hub, experimental labs, new technology labs, and smart Korean language classrooms (KLass); strengthening partnerships with numerous domestic and international businesses and organizations; improving academic program quality, continuing bilingual training programs in English-Vietnamese, Japanese-Vietnamese, and Korean-Vietnamese, and launching new master’s programs in IT, semiconductor technology, AI, and Fintech; successfully organizing international scientific conferences, including the CITA 2025 conference, which will be held for the first time in Cambodia; hosting various academic activities and startup competitions for university students and high school students from the Central Highlands provinces, enhancing VKU’s reputation and standing. Employee welfare and income improvement also received significant attention, with the average monthly income in 2024 reaching 17.5 million VND per person. Especially, the series of events celebrating the 5th anniversary of VKU’s establishment, marking its 22-year journey of formation and development, was successfully organized. These events fostered strong unity among all staff members, highlighted the university’s remarkable growth, and reaffirmed its position as one of the nation’s leading academic institutions.

At the conference, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho highlighted the Party building work summary for 2024 and outlined the objectives and tasks for 2025 of the Party Committee. The report detailed the advantages and challenges faced in implementing Party-related tasks during 2024. Despite these challenges, through determination, unity, and consistent leadership, the Party Committee successfully fulfilled its political mission for 2024. Based on these achievements, the Party Committee identified key priorities and proposed solutions for advancing Party building work in 2025.

In his speech, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Huu Phuc commended and highly valued the accomplishments of the university’s Party Committee in 2024. He urged the Party Committee to continue fostering internal solidarity and focus on developing the staff, enhancing the quality of training for high-quality human resources, particularly in semiconductor technology and artificial intelligence. He also emphasized the importance of student activities, scientific research, and the implementation of international cooperation projects. Moreover, special attention should be given to drafting key documents and successfully organizing the Party Congress at all levels for the 2025–2030 term in the near future.

The university’s Party Committee acknowledged and awarded certificates of merit to one sub-committee and 19 Party members for their outstanding performance in 2023.

In the summary of Party building work for 2024, the university’s Party Committee recognized and presented certificates of merit to the Sub-Committee of Administrative Unit 2 and 20 Party members for their excellent achievements in 2024.

The conference for summarizing the Party building work in 2024 and outlining tasks for 2025 concluded with a spirit of unity, determination, and high hopes. This event not only provided an opportunity to reflect on the outstanding achievements of the university’s Party Committee over the past year but also laid an important foundation for key tasks in 2025. With remarkable accomplishments, a spirit of innovation, and continuous efforts, the Party Committee has contributed to enhancing VKU’s status, affirming its role as a political nucleus in the development of the university and society as a whole. Additionally, the conference was a meaningful activity within the series of events celebrating the 5th anniversary of VKU’s establishment, marking its 22-year journey of formation and development and affirming the university’s stature in its mission of training and scientific research.
