Students from Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, achieved outstanding success at the VietFuture Awards 2025, winning one First Prize, one Third Prize, and Third Place Overall. This remarkable achievement highlights the talent, determination, and exceptional creativity of VKU students at one of Vietnam’s most prestigious and competitive innovation arenas. More than just a single accomplishment, it is clear evidence of VKU’s consistent efforts to affirm its position on the VietFuture honors map in recent years.

VKU student team won First Prize with the project “MediPath – A solution to support doctors and patients through digital assistants following real-life examination processes”

Among hundreds of projects from 46 universities and colleges nationwide, “MediPath – A Solution to Support Doctors and Patients Through Digital Assistants Following Real-life Examination Processes” by the VKU student team – Duong Cong Cuong, Hoang Bao Viet, Nguyen Gia Phuc, Phan Duc Huy, Thai Ly Han (22AD), and Do Thi Ngoc Loan (22EL) – impressed the judges and won First Prize at VietFuture Awards 2025. The product applies artificial intelligence to optimize medical examination and treatment procedures, reduce doctors’ workloads, and provide patients with a more convenient experience. This marks an important step in Vietnam’s digital healthcare transformation and showcases the creativity and advanced technological skills of VKU students.

VKU student team won Third Prize with the project “ShieldNet – A multi-layer AI system for supporting and protecting cyberspace”

Equally impressive, “ShieldNet – A multi-layer AI system for supporting and protecting cyberspace”, developed by the VKU student team of Truong The Quoc Dung, Ton That Ron, Phung Anh Sang (21GIT), Nguyen Ngoc Xuan Quynh (23AI), and Tran Viet Gia Bao (22GBA), earned Third Prize at VietFuture Awards 2025. ShieldNet can detect and block online threats early, such as phishing websites, email scams, malicious messages, and harmful content. Developed with the support of Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC), the project not only provides a solution to protect users but also assists businesses and government agencies in addressing cybersecurity risks, further affirming VKU students’ research strengths and innovative spirit.

VKU proudly secured Third Place Overall

In  particular, in addition to the two individual awards, VKU proudly achieved Third Place Overall at the VietFuture Awards 2025, ranking among the leading universities at this year’s competition. This accomplishment reflects the tireless efforts of VKU’s faculty and students, as well as the university’s steadfast strategy of integrating education with research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The achievements in 2025 further extend VKU students’ successful journey at VietFuture over the past years. In 2023, VKU made a strong impression with a First Prize, a Second Prize, a Third Prize, and an Industry Award. In 2024, the university continued to leave its mark with two Potential Awards. By 2025, winning a First Prize, a Third Prize, and Third Place Overall has confirmed VKU’s remarkable progress, making the university one of the standout names on the VietFuture map.

VietFuture Awards, organized annually by Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) since 2023, is one of the country’s most prestigious competitions for students, tech startups, and young research teams. In 2025, VietFuture received 211 entries from 46 institutions, a 20% increase compared to the previous year. After a rigorous evaluation process, the Organizing Committee presented 35 awards, including 7 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes, 7 Third Prizes, 14 Potential Awards, and several prizes chosen by businesses and sponsors. Covering 16 categories ranging from artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, cybersecurity, and green technology to Education 4.0, VietFuture is truly an intellectual arena where innovative ideas are tested and propelled onto the global stage.

These impressive achievements are a source of pride for VKU’s faculty and students, affirming the determination, intelligence, and innovative spirit of the university’s young talents.
