VKU Students Shine at the Program to Honor Valedictorians and Support Students in 2025 of the University of Danang
On the evening of October 28, 2025, the University of Danang (UD) held the Program to Honor Valedictorians and Support Students in 2025 to honor valedictorians from member universities and affiliated units of UD, as well as to commend and reward students who achieved outstanding academic and training results during the 2024–2025 academic year.

In 2025, VKU admitted 1,500 students across 19 majors/specializations in the fields of digital technology and digital economy. With nearly 20,000 applications submitted through various admission methods, VKU continued to be a highly competitive learning destination. Admission scores across all majors remained impressive, with high school transcript-based admission scores ranging from 24 to 27 points. As a result, VKU successfully achieved 100% of its enrollment target, welcoming 1,500 new students and raising the total student population to nearly 8,000.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, VKU continued to focus on recruiting, training, and conducting research in strategic fields such as semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, financial technology (Fintech), and logistics. These are key areas aligned with the development strategy of Da Nang City towards 2030 and 2045, which envisions the city as a regional hub for semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, and international finance. The university has achieved remarkable accomplishments over the past academic year, including: maintaining consistently high admission scores and a 100% enrollment rate across 19 majors/specializations; achieving a high proportion of students with academic results rated “Good” or higher; maintaining an employment rate of over 60% at graduation and over 95% after one year; launching four new majors/specializations – Financial Technology, Data Analytics, Game Technology, and Automotive Software Engineering; accelerating the implementation of a 7.7 million USD ODA project funded by the Korean Government; and investing in new facilities such as the VKU Fintech Hub, Smart Korean Language Classroom, and the Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space). The university also strengthened student management and parent-school communication through the Parent Portal, expanded partnerships with domestic and international enterprises, and enhanced the connection between academia and industry to improve students’ English, Japanese, and Korean language proficiency as well as their professional skills. VKU successfully organized numerous major international conferences, including CITA 2025 (for the first time held in Cambodia), and other symposiums on Blockchain, AI, Semiconductor Technology, Fintech, and more. The university also broadened internship, academic exchange, and cultural exchange programs between VKU lecturers and students and partner universities in Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Japan with nearly 200 participants. Additionally, VKU hosted various large-scale academic and intellectual competitions at international and national levels, such as the Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025), the Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad, the Digital Dragons The Cybersecurity Challenge, and the National Young Informatics Competition. Many VKU students achieved high results in national and international competitions on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Student Nguyen Viet Thanh Dat honored as VKU’s 2025 Valedictorian in 2025 admission
At the Program to Honor Valedictorians and Support Students in 2025, VKU had four students who were commended and rewarded: one student recognized as the 2025 Valedictorian and three students recognized as outstanding students of the 2024–2025 academic year, along with five students receiving Student Empowerment Scholarships.
Specifically:
- Student Nguyen Viet Thanh Dat (former student of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang) – Admission score: 30/30 (achievement-based admission) – Class 25GIT1, Information Technology Engineering, was honored as VKU’s Valedictorian, receiving a commemorative medal and a reward worth 10 million VND.
- Students Dinh Viet Phuong (Class 21KIT, Software Engineering – Korean–Vietnamese Bilingual Program), Do Thi Ngoc Loan (Class 22EL1, Digital Logistics and Supply Chain Management), and Nguyen Dang Hoang Vu (Class 22IC, Semiconductor Design Engineering) were recognized as Outstanding Students of the 2024–2025 academic year, receiving certificates of merit from the Director of the University of Danang and rewards worth 3 million VND each.
- Five students were awarded Student Empowerment Scholarships 2025 from UD, each worth 5 million VND.
Earlier, at VKU’s 2025 Valedictorian Honoring and Freshmen Welcome Ceremony, the university had also awarded numerous valuable scholarships to incoming freshmen: 50 million VND for the Valedictorian, 35 million VND for the First Runner-up, 30 million VND for the Second Runner-up, and 20 million VND each for the Top 10 students with the highest entrance scores in 2025. Additionally, Outstanding Students of the 2024–2025 academic year received 2 million VND each, and 50 “Accompanying Students in Hardship” scholarships worth 2 million VND each were granted from the university’s fund, the University of Danang, and sponsorships from domestic and international enterprises.
