VKU students’ global integration journey: from K-Tech College course to hands-on experience in Korea

On the afternoon of October 29, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang organized an online meeting and orientation session for the delegation of lecturers and students participating in the K-Tech College program. The session was organized prior to their departure for Korea, where the delegation will join the visiting, studying, and practical experience program within the framework of the K-Tech College 2025 project, scheduled from November 2 to 6, 2025.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU, along with representatives of relevant departments and faculties, and five outstanding students selected to join the program. These are excellent students, selected from 38 trainees who have successfully completed the K-Tech College 2025 training course, held at VKU from June to October 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University congratulated and praised the efforts and creativity of the students who have successfully completed the program. K-Tech College is one of the typical international programs, reflecting VKU’s vision in expanding international cooperation and fostering high-quality human resources in technology. The selection of VKU students for the study trip to Korea represents a valuable opportunity for them to learn and experience an advanced technological environment. It also affirms the courage, intelligence, and image of VKU students as dynamic, globally integrated, and ready to reach out to the world. He urged the students to uphold the spirit of learning, responsibility and cultural integrity, to make the most of this valuable opportunity to experience and to return with new lessons, values ​​and inspiration that will contribute positively to the student community and the development of the University.

The K-Tech College 2025 program is a special training project sponsored by the Korean Government, chaired by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korean SMEs and Startups  Agency (KOSME), in collaboration with LikeLion Korea. VKU is one of only two institutions in Vietnam selected to implement this program, targeting final-year Information Technology students. The program aims to train a team of highly qualified software engineers, ready to integrate and work in international environments.

The last lesson of the course

After 14 weeks of intensive study with a total duration of 520 hours, 38 VKU students have successfully completed the K-Tech College 2025 program. Throughout the course, students were equipped with comprehensive knowledge and skills in frontend and backend programming (React, Next.js, Spring Boot, GraphQL, etc.) as well as Korean corporate culture, Korean communication, global working mindset, and practical experience through software development projects under the guidance of Korean mentors. At the end of the course, students completed 08 graduation projects with an average score of 91.6/100, demonstrating their strong professional competence and dedicated learning attitude. According to a report from LikeLion, the student satisfaction level reached 4.63/5 points, affirming the effectiveness and practical value of the program. After the course, the program continues to implement advanced support activities, including a series of supplementary online courses, guidance on using JobKorea’s Ninehire recruitment platform, and especially the selection of 05 outstanding students to participate in a study trip and practical experience in Korea. This is an opportunity for VKU students to visit leading technology enterprises, meet startups and Korean experts, and learn about advanced software development models and professional working culture, thereby affirming the spirit of integration, creativity and global courage – the distinctive values ​​of VKU students in the digital era.

The upcoming study and experience trip to Korea serves as a worthy reward for the efforts and achievements of VKU students, while marking a significant step forward in international cooperation between VKU and its Korean partners. This is also a testament to VKU’s educational philosophy: training connected to practice, globally oriented and committed to nurturing brave and creative digital citizens.
